We stayed in a 2 bed annex which was comfortably and thoughtfully furnished, very clean and well maintained.
The staff and hospitality was exceptional and everybody from bar staff, waiting staff and pub locals were extremely friendly.
The food was lovely, as was the wine!
It is situated right in the heart of the village within a few minutes walk of all you need and right opposite the historical post office. We could not have asked for more.

From the moment we walked in we felt very welcome. The lovely converted building with thick stone walls, slate and wooden floors gave a great atmosphere. Food was plentiful, well presented and very tasty. Staff were happy to help - nothing was too much trouble.

Highermead House was one of the less expensive places the GPS showed reasonably close to Tintagel (King Arthur's castle) so we booked it without high expectations. Boy, were we surprised, starting with the nice confirmation note Kasey sent.
The GPS took us to a tiny gate in a very narrow tree tunnel. But a few yards further is the wide entrance with lots of parking around what will one day be a fountain (once the outside is renovated). Jon greeted us and took us through a large, beautiful, warm and welcoming, sitting room to a very nicely decorated room that had everything we'd need - microwave, fridge, dishes, table and chairs, lighted mirror in the bathroom, nook in the shower for shower gel. Without having met Kasey, I knew immediately it was her work. She had put some serious thought and effort into it. Later she told me she put everything in it that she would want.
Thank you, Jon and Kasey, for being so warm and friendly and having such delightfully fun boys. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay!

The location is breath taking, so beautiful, close to the beach, castle & shops, the hotel was full of character, very relaxing, full of charm, very clean, the staff are very friendly, the food was excellent.

The owners were very welcoming and friendly, and the location is very close to the Tintagel castle. Everything was better than I expected and will for sure return to stay longer than 1 night. Our hostess, Maggie, was very friendly and welcoming. The house is in an ideal location, not isolated, and is only a very short walk from a good range of village shops, cafes and restaurants. It was spotlessly clean throughout, warm and comfortable, and well maintained. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking and dining in and everything worked fine. Access to the castle and the coastal path was close by.
The whole visit was amazing. The staff went out of their way to helpful to everyone. I have never been made more welcome. The room was very clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent nice variety and prompt service. The location of the hotel is ideal. The best bit about the whole stay was the friendly staff.
