The property was perfect . The location is fantastic for access to the area as it’s central to Houghton-le-Spring. The property was so peaceful and relaxing and has everything you need for a comfortable stay . The property is tastefully decorated and furnished and had a lovely homely feel. The host was fantastic and did everything she could to help make my stay run smoothly. Great communication ! I will definitely be booking the property again on my next visit to see family . what can I say, Pete the host couldn't do enough for us all. He was friendly and so nice. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were beautifully decorated and clean and the beds are very comfortable. I have MND and my speech wasn't very good but Pete was so kind and helpful. The breakfast was all good quality food and very tasty. All homemade bread which was delicious as was the banana bread and Greek yogurt and oaks. I would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends. Thank you Pete for being a fantastic host, kind, caring and very thoughtful.

Located right in the heart of Seaham seafront. I was surprised by how quiet it was once inside. Even with some renovation works below we didn’t hear a thing. Friendly communications from the owner and a great bonus that there’s a discount on the breakfasts in The Lamp Room. We loved breakfast and dinner there. There is no designated parking, but we had no problem parking for free close by on a busy bank holiday weekend.

Having stayed at the hotel previously we were aware of the location, which is ideal for us as we were attending the Arena nearby. The reception area and bar are very clean and the staff friendly. The room was very clean and well equipped. Although we were at the front of the hotel on the main road, the room was still quiet.
The hotel was very clean and well looked after, the room was spotless and a good size, beds were ok slept in singles. That said we tried the Thai restaurant which was truly amazing, first class service with outstanding food.

Location was ideal for visiting my son who lived nearby as well as easy access to Durham and transport links to Newcastle, the room was a good size, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was ok, lots of choice but we did notice a couple of people had burnt items on their plates. We ate in the bar on our second night and it was good value and food was nice.
