The hotel is very well-decorated downstairs and the rooms are functional. The single bed was small but extremely comfortable. Lighting can be dimmed or brightened with one switch and the shower is powerful. The breakfast was quite good but the range quite limited. The location --once you know whether to turn right or left outside the station --- is excellent being close to the old part of town and the two extraordinary churches as well as Rilke's burial place. The vista outside the train station is quite unwelcoming but people that I asked for directions (x 3) were friendly.
For those on a budget, these cheap and cheerful hotels still have a lot to offer, with most offering WiFi and convenient locations. I had the unexpected bonus of a free room upgrade upon arrival, which was very appreciated! The premium double room has a huge balcony with views over the city and the mountains beyond.
The location was amazing, the view from the window was very picturesque. We were on a hill so it was a steep climb to the hostel but the hostel itself was very calm, spacious and very clean. We enjoyed the peace and quiet after the madness of Paris.
Lovely hotel, very clean with all the amenities you would need. Very nice outdoor space to enjoy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We found Visp to be a very good location for exploring the surroundings and also for day trips as it is well connected.
