The location of the apartment is excellent in the centre of Melk. Very modern, spacious and unusual design features. The availibiliry of a good selection of wine at a reasonable price was a plus.

I couldn't enjoy this stay because a man let himself into the apartment on the first morning of my two night stay.
It was 9:40am, the door was locked. This man didn't knock, he just used a key to enter the apartment. He spoke to me in Spanish, asked if I was leaving that day or staying for one more day. I said I was staying one more day and he left.
If he genuinely didn't know when I was checking out, he could have simply asked at the accommodation's reception, which is literally next door.
I happened to be dressed and ready to go out for the day, but what if I wasn't? And a man lets himself in to the apartment without even trying to knock first? It's never ok to invade a guest's privacy like that, but when it's a solo female traveller, it's even worse.
After that incident I couldn't relax or enjoy the rest of my stay, because I was nervous that the man might let himself in to the apartment again.
I messaged the accommodation after I checked out and after 24 hours, they still haven't even bothered to reply. To me, that speaks volumes about the incident and their lack of regard for guests privacy and especially solo female travellers.

Clean, friendly staff. Ideal location. Nice quiet garden for residents - for a drink or meal, as well as tables on the street if you wanted the street life. Breakfast was fine for this size hotel - a good spread but not full 4* hotel choice. Dinner was excellent and even a smaller portion was produced when my wife said she could not manage the usual generous portion.

Very nice location, close to Melk Monastery and city center. Plenty of parking and public parking nearby. Breakfast was correct, rooms and bathrooms very clean, personnel very nice and polite.
The location is perfect - in the centre of the old town. The room was very comfortable, and the bed was very comfy to sleep in. The room was spotless. Breakfast was good for starting the day. The parking is for those with smaller cars and who know how to park in very narrow places; otherwise, we'd recommend parking in the town (it costs around ten eur/day). Personnel very friendly and very busy working in the Cafe.
