Lucerne is a bustling beautiful city, but Emmetten, just 15 min car ride away is a small, quaint mountain without the crowds and with incredible views of the lake (in my opinion even better than Lucerne). We only were only able to stay two nights, but wish we could have stayed many more to try more hikes and mountain biking. It was very easy for us to do a day trip into Lucerne on our way out do town. You also must try Susi’s pizza- just a 5 min walk away. The place was impeccably clean and Elizabeth and Felix were prompt and dependable hosts. We traveled with our 18 month old son and had no issues. Honestly if you want to see Lucerne but stay somewhere more affordable with better views, this is the place!
