La Meffrais 1741 is a stunning place to stay. Very handy for Dinan, Dinard and St Malo and the ferry port. La Hisse is not far either if you fancy a walk beside the river. There’s also parking on their long, cobbled drive. So it’s literally seconds to the door.
The owners are very friendly and their “little bit” of English was almost fluent and much more than my little bit of French. They walked round the outside of their home so as not to walk through the room we were sitting while reading, and enjoying a bottle of wine we’d bought from them. Strong but delicious 🍷
We opted to pay for breakfast on our first morning and the choice was outstanding; fruit, cereal, yogurt, cold meats and cheese, eggs, pastries and bread and jam. There’s also a choice of teas and coffee and their home pressed apple juice is so much better than any I’ve ever had before. I’m not normally an apple juice drinker but that was out of this world.

Great view on the port. Friendly host who came to facilitate our arrival (the street was closed due to festivities). Stylish flat equipped with all necessary facilities. There's a very steep but lovely street to go up to Dinan centre nearby. On the sides of the river, great paths to walk in both directions as far as the nearby Léhon and Taden villages, both remarkable.
We were greeted by the owner who was very pleasant and showed us to our room. It’s set in a small village and we found it very quiet. The amenities were excellent with a nice garden with seating and two lounges inside for the guests to use. Plenty of parking. The breakfasts were good with a selection of breads meats cheeses yogurts and cooked eggs to order.
We loved everything about Le Poisson Ivre. The staff is extremely professional, the room was beautiful with a gorgeous view of the port. Our room was well-appointed and was spotless. We received an excellent breakfast of croissant, rolls, and yoghurt in the morning. We loved this hotel and its village. We look forward to a future visit. We give it our highest recommendation.
It was everything we needed and more. The place was spotless, and charmingly decorated. The location was great - close to everything. Walkable from the train station, and right beside the tourist information centre, château and the historic village streets. Also close to the bus stop that took us to Dinard and to St Malo.
Jérémy was a great host, even though we didn’t meet him. Accommodating and helpful and very responsive to messages.
The property is very well presented and very clean. The whole setting in this village is all you could ask for and the welcome you will receive from Isabelle is excellent
A clean and comfortable room. Our host Vincente was friendly and helpful, nothing was a problem for him. The Hotel is opposite the train station and the area is very quiet especially at night. A short walk into the village centre. Parking is available outside the hotel. Vincente puts on a fantastic traditional breakfast. We would stay there again.
Ghislan was a wonderful host; personal, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. We enjoyed walking the village of Dinan, our comfortable and modern room, and the lovely breakfasts Ghislan prepared personally.
It was really fantastic. Great service, breakfast and nice atmosphere. The location is good if you come by car and close to the beautiful village Dinan.
