Our stay in Garmisch was amazing, starting with our arrival at the chalet where Michael met us with the keys, opened the garage door for us upon arrival, and even had a Christmas tree put up and a fire in the fireplace when we walked in. He showed us around the amazing modern property (yes the theater and sauna are real), explaining how everything worked and left us his cell number in case we had any questions during our 5- day stay. When we did text him with questions, he always responded within just a few minutes. He gave us a wonderful recommendation for the best Italian restaurant in town that was a 5-minute walk from the chalet, as well as ideas for things to do in the area based on the upcoming weather for the week. The home itself is in a quiet area, but within a block of the train station. Venues we visited within a 5-minute walk are the Italian restaurant (Renzo...phenomenal), an Irish pub, and a bakery for morning pastries. The downtown shopping area is also within walking distance, but probably a 15 minute walk. We drove it, however, and parking was plentiful even during the Christmas market season. We travel a lot, both stateside and overseas, and this was probably our best experience ever when combining both the property and the host. Upon departure, Michael again met us at the property to pick up the keys and ask us about our week, bringing us a farewell gift of German pretzels from the bakery.

We were in Miesbach, approximately 30 minutes outside of Munich by train. As we were on Eurail, this was not a problem. There was a self-check-in that worked fine. Laundry on premises was great. Miesbach is a quiet, normal German village we used as our base to visit Salzburg, Andechs, Linderhof, Hallstaat and the Zugspitze. We lucked out and were able to attend the town's open market which was very enjoyable...wonderful people all around!

To be in the heart of the Garmisch village was a big surprise. There are plenty of restaurants, bakeries, shopping, and grocery stores all within walking distance.
Everything was great and the stay was wonderful. Catch a taxi from the station and pay €10. Possible to walk around for the village and to the shopping streets
Very nice and elegant villa (Prince has a good taste :)). Some of the furniture in the room is quite old and out of style (I am guessing 60's or 70's), but that was minor compared to all the other comforts.
For breakfast - quality food and it was tasty.
You cannot beat this location! With a view of the Alps and a short drive to everything, this vacation home was the perfect fit. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was spacious and modern, and the host was very friendly!
Very friendly hosts, there were even fresh flowers to welcome us. Very spaceous and clean appartment with nice and modern furniture. A balcony is attached to the living room with great mountain views. Large kitchen equipped with all facilities you need, even coffee and a modern coffee machine were available. Appartment is located in an historic villa in the heart of Garmisch, so it is perfect for exploring the town and its environment.
