The accommodation is very comfortable. There is a big kitchen to prepare and enjoy your meal. The location is great. The bus stop to the train station is less then 2 minutes walk. If you're (or your kid) a fan for "Das Sams". The house from Herr Taschenbier(Film- Das Sams) is just around the corner. Our family spent two lovely days here.

We loved the location - right next to Rewe and DM. We also walked from the train station (20 minutes) and all the nearby sights were easily accessible by foot. Tons of cafes and restaurants to choose from (Cafe Leander if you want a play corner for the kiddies). There was a book with recommendations (thank you nearby playground!) and overall, the place was one of the most well-equipped (kitchen, towels, hair dryer) and cleanest of stays we've ever had.

Lovely flat, very spacious, clean and bright, well equipped. Free parking as well. Photos don't do it justice. It was the perfect location for us as we were visiting family and friends. Very easy access into town - there's a bus but ideally you'd have push bikes. It's not the most scenic area BUT very quiet and safe at night and during the day, it's so quick and easy to go shopping. Communication with host all top notch. We'll be back 😀

Villa Katharina is a very special hotel, outside the center, in a quite hilly area, which we liked. Good exercise. Glad we stayed two nights to get used. Room is well equipped and luxury. Breakfast is special, as each guest can specify how to get the hot food. Bamberg is also special with two canals surrounding the old town.
The villa is exceptional in all respects, excellent location, fully outfitted and the most beautiful decor, so many wonderful touches! Alexandra was a very friendly and gracious host. Highly recommended!
Great location near the river, quiet like in a village (even sheeps are nearby...) , but not far to the Bamber center. One could even walk there, but I went closer to the old city by car.

Alexandra’s cottage was in a superb location, a nice leisurely stroll to the centre of Bamberg. The villa itself was darling. A lovely authentic home that was beautifully presented. Immaculately clean and nicely furnished. All the facilities were in excellent condition.
Very happy with our stay at Metterschmidt in Bamberg, we liked it so much we extended our stay for a few days. Staff were pleasant, our room was a good size and very quiet and vey clean. Breakfast was excellent. Very well run business with people that care. Parking was available nearby. Surrounding villages worth visiting if you have time
Nice hotel, friendly staff with good breakfast. It's right in the heart of the village literally opposite Schlenkerla that does the Rauchbier. The hotel bar/restaurant also does Rauchbier where everybody is outside on the street enjoying a beer. There are plenty of eating and drinking options nearby. NB - If you are coming to Bamberg by train, it is a 20-25 minute walk to the old town and hotel from the station.
