Travel Guru Rick Steves recommends quaint guesthouses (=pensions) instead of chain hotels. Almhof Baumgarten is indeed a hidden gem. We stayed at the property on Sep 10th during our trip to Alps. The room was spacious and comfortable. Seeing the mountains at dawn through the upstairs balcony window was memorable.
The owner has a kind and warm personality, even helping with our luggage. The main building is across from the dining area, but there is no thru traffic and plenty of free parking spots. In the evening you can enjoy free tea, coffee and get to chat with other friendly travelers. Breakfast was bountiful and delicious. Highly recommended. - Kris

The apartment was spacious with a large balcony from where you could admire the mountains. The toilet and the shower/washing rooms were separated and that was a nice thing. The apartment itself was also very clean and the kitchen well equipped with different accessories, including an egg fryer. The location is in a quiet area and well connected to the national roads network.

This is a beautiful property! It's located in a lovely small mountain town. It is a short drive to Salzburg. The night sky is beautiful here, and we could really see the stars. The property is spacious and very clean.

Nicely refurbished rooms, breakfast served at reasonable times, very kind staff. We also arrived late in the night and it was not a problem to leave our keys in the box, dogs are welcome, nice surroundings and great view from the room. The village is very nice, spa very close, great access from the higway.
Nice little studio that is clean and just on the edge of the village. Great for walking and cycling and exploring the region. Chris is was a great host and super responsive. Check in and check out was easy.
All family are welcome and kind, the breakfast was excellent and delicious. I never tasted a delicious meal like what they made. decorations are nice and amazing I recommend everyone to have a nice time with family and the village.

The location was fantastic, it is close to many hiking trails and not far from Eagle's Nest, Konigssee, Hintersee, Ramsau Village, and Salzburg, Austria.
The whole experience at Villa Rein was fantastic. Real attention to detail has been made to make everything that little bit special. Sebastian and his staff were so friendly and welcoming. The room felt luxurious, the décor was original Art Nouveau, yet everything felt so modern. The breakfast was also excellent with fresh ingredients. The location is perfect for visiting Berchtesgaden, Salzburg & Chiemsee.
Very nice building, typical from the area, close to the village center. Large, clean rooms, nicely equiped. The village itself is really nice, with green areas, restaurants serving local food, shops, ... Great atmosphere.
