Brandy, the owner, was terrific! We so enjoyed talking with her, and her breakfasts were amazing. We loved the view of the valley and distant mountains from our bedroom and the kitchen table. Good location in Golden. Rooms were spacious and contained all necessary facilities for short term stays including refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and kettle. Good stay overall.
It was like I was staying in a Swiss village. The warm welkommen from the international desk clerk, the "toot toot" of the railway every 30 minutes as it winds it way up through the mountain village; an experience I'm so glad I didn't miss.
The whole experience was like a dream.
The host is super friendly and interacts with the guests a lot. Every day she prepares a self made breakfast. We just stayed one night but our breakfast was delicious.
The house is located in the forest so it is peaceful and quiet far away from the village. It provides an incredible view on the valley.
The Golden Village Lodge surpassed our expectations. The newly renovated rooms are clean and spacious, providing a comfortable stay. The bed was particularly cozy, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Additionally, the Indian restaurant adjacent to the lodge offers delicious food that comes highly recommended.
The location is great, and the facilities are certainly to the standards and spacing of a ski lodge. They provided ample warning of the "village" being closed and hi-way maintenance being conducted.
The facilities at the Golden Village Lodge were excellent and I would definitely stay there again. A bonus is the excellent Indian restaurant next door -- large menu of excellent food.
