Set 800 metres from St Bavo's Cathedral, Hotel The Boatel is located in Ghent. Free WiFi access is available in this boat. Would definitely stay here again. I loved sleeping on the boat and looking out onto the canal. Quiet and peaceful yet a fairly short walk into central Ghent. Lovely outdoor deck area to have a beer. Delicious breakfast. There are only 5 rooms so we met most of the other guests and enjoyed chatting with them and the host, Sven. Also very clean.

The host is very welcoming, It is a 20-min walk to the center but the area is very calm and secure, the experience of sleeping on the boat is lovely.

It was very kind of Francis to bring us breakfast when he needed the plumber to work on the space during our visit. We greatly appreciated that gesture and it was a fantastic breakfast we found out he normally offers anyone ... i would take it. We also appreciated the fact that he was not bothered by the fact that we needed his assistance when we first arrived because of some technical issues we had along our journey. We would highly recommend this location.

Very comfortable room with lovely views, and close to city centre. Host was very accommodating and helpful, and the breakfast was very tasty (and very conveniently brought to the door each morning).
