Casa de Tillie features pool with a view and a hot tub, as well as accommodation with a kitchenette in Guanajuato, 1.3 km from La Paz Square. We like everything about this very well designed, a family owned small hotel / B&B. We stayed in a spacious room with incredible view of the city. The mattress and pillows were the most comfortable we ever had in our trips. The bathroom had everything we needed ( towels, shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer etc). We parked our car in the garage, which was easy accessible and secure. There is a small pool outside which we used regrettably only once due to a very busy “schedule “ downtown Guanajuato. But the most cherished memories about our stay was our breakfast time , when we had a chance to talk with our lovely hosts, Flo and Rene. We enjoyed many topics from local news and events up to international politics! The food served is another great thing about our stay. Every morning we had freshly cooked local specialties, house made granola with yogurt and plenty of fresh fruits, fresh pastries from local bakeries, coffee, delicious agua fresca. Our special thanks to Letty and Rene’s mom for cooking!! The hotel location was great for our daily activities, even though there was some extra work out coming back from town. It was not a problem at all. We had comfortable shoes and motivation to burn some calories after great dinners downtown.

I love that this hotel is in a neighborhood just uphill from Plaza Baratillo. Paulina is a lovely person and a fabulous hostess. Casa Azul is a rambling old house with loads of character, and lots of stairs. I'd begin each day on the roof terrace with coffee, listening to the roosters and church bells, and enjoying the incredible views over the city!

This will be my top 10 in the world I have been. Atmosphere, host, interior, light games in the room. Comfortable bed, history and details. My top 1 in Mexico.

Casa Rofo is set in Guanajuato, 700 metres from La Paz Square, 1.3 km from Alhondiga de Granaditas Museum, as well as 600 metres from Juarez Theater. I loved everything about Casa Rofo! The view from the terrace is spectacular, Guanajuato is uniquely beautiful. Omar and Jacquie are so kind, warm, and welcoming., truly wonderful hosts. The room was spotlessly clean, very peaceful, relaxing and comfortable, and it’s such a treat to have a fridge. I found the walk down to the Centro Histórico very quick and charming, definitely harder coming back up in the heat but worth it to sit on the terrace and watch the magical sunset, and the city lights come on. I found GTO very easy to navigate as a solo traveller, I took the v comfortable ETN bus from GDL, got an Uber from the bus station for just over 100 pesos, and a taxi back for 100 pesos. I felt very safe walking around alone, and there are lots of great restaurants. I loved Omar’s breakfasts, especially the huaraches! I wish I’d stayed longer, I would definitely stay at Casa Rofo again if I ever come back to GTO!

The bed was absolutely incredible. Probably the softest and most comfortable I've ever stayed in. Check-In was very simple - the day before our stay I was contacted as a greeting, and was provided a person to text when en route to the hotel. On the day of arrival I was also contacted to arrange meeting the house keeper outside the property on arrival. Really pleasing and very friendly. Location was perfect.
