Luluka Guest House

Sekenani

All units in the guest house are fitted with a kettle. Featuring a private bathroom with a shower and slippers, units at the guest house also boast free WiFi, while some rooms include a terrace. At the guest house, each unit includes bed linen and towels. We loved everything. The location is amazing, only 3min away from Maasai Mara park entry, and within a real Maasai village. The accomation was great too, as shown in the announce photos. You can also book meals for lunch and dinners, that you can eat "to stay" in their restaurant or "to go" for game drives, which is really practical. But mostly, our hosts exceeded our expectations: Paul has been a true help throughout all our stay (including helping us find, before/after coming, drivers, matatus... Our safety and comfort was his first priority), Levis made us discover the Maasai culture during nature walks (walking in the village, playing with kids, explaining how trees can be used for day-to-day purposes...) and went with us during our first safari to help us spot animals (we saw so many of them!), Emily was so caring with us that we felt really comfortable (she took great care of our room, of us during meals, and even made us wonderful bracelets), we had great conversations with Lawrence to better understand Kenya (especially at night in front of bonfires), and the chef cooks delicious meals (we are vegetarian and it was not a problem at all). If you book the place, ask to go on safaris with them directly instead of taking another guide: not doing so is our only regret. Really 100% recommend this guest house!

In some units there is a dressing room for guests to change in. I liked the pancakes and egg curry.

SEMADEP SAFARI CAMP

Sekenani

Situated in Sekenani in the Narok region, SEMADEP SAFARI CAMP has a balcony and mountain views. This bed and breakfast features a terrace as well as a bar. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property. Amazing friendly people! Delicious food (we had the all-inclusive option and breakfast, lunch and Dinner was very well cooked and delicious). Super clean und comfortable tents and cabins. It is a community based project; eg children profit from the generated income. It is located only 5 minutes away from Sekenani Gate. Therefore it is perfectly suited to stay here for 2/3 nights and to do a game drive to Maasai Mara (160$ per car). Please note to bring enough cash to pay the entrance fee of 100 or 200$/person to the Maasai Mara (credit card usually does not work). We booked the game drive with Semadep Safari Camp and we had an amazing game drive day with Dennis (guide) and Jhon (Driver). Both of them are so wonderful people and showed us so many animals. We had our Breakfast and lunch during the safari since we left 5:45. Both was very well prepared from Semadep chef.

Leruk Maasai Mara Camp

Sekenani

The kitchen features a microwave, a fridge and kitchenware and there is a private bathroom with bathrobes and slippers. For added privacy, the accommodation has a private entrance and is protected by full-day security. An unforgettable Kenyan Adventure under Canvas! Our recent family trip to Kenya was absolutely fantastic, and a huge part of that was our incredible stay at a tented Leruk Maasai camp! With two young kids in tow, we weren't sure how they'd handle it, but this camp exceeded all expectations. Firstly, the accommodations were surprisingly luxurious. The tents were spacious and comfortable, providing a unique way to experience the Kenyan wilderness without sacrificing comfort. But the true stars of the show were the meals! Cooked by talented local chefs, the food was exceptional. Every night was a culinary adventure, bursting with fresh, flavorful dishes. John, the host, and his entire team deserve a standing ovation. Their courtesy and attentiveness were unmatched. They were always available to ensure our every need was met, making the entire stay smooth and enjoyable. One of the most memorable experiences was a guided walk led by Jacob. He took us to a nearby village, where we witnessed shepherds herding their livestock and learned about their daily routines. It was a fascinating glimpse into Kenyan culture that we wouldn't have had otherwise. The highlight of the trip, however, was the unforgettable jungle safari arranged by John himself! He personally guided us on game drives through the Masai Mara, ensuring we had the best possible wildlife viewing experience. The kids were absolutely enthralled, spotting lions, elephants, and countless other animals in their natural habitat. This trip wouldn't have been nearly as amazing without John and Jacob's dedication. They went above and beyond to make our stay truly special. Our kids especially had a blast, and that's the ultimate testament to a successful family vacation. If you're looking for an authentic Kenyan adventure with a touch of luxury, this tented camp is the perfect place to stay!
