We were simply guests of great people in their home. We traveled as two families, we had separate rooms. We had breakfast in the hosts' kitchen. Maybe someone does not like such a close relationship with the owners of the apartments, but it was extremely pleasant for us.

We had a wonderful stay with Marian and her mother. They both were so friendly. The breakfast was very Scottish and a lot of variety. The view out of the back door is gorgeous, with sheep roaming around in the fields all around and mountains far down in the distance!

Birchwood Guest Lodge offers air-conditioned accommodation in Balmaha. Free WiFi and freee parking is available at the property. The owner welcomed me when I arrived late in the evening , tired from the west highland way, and was very kind and warm! He was helpful and patient even though it was pretty late. The room was decorated so special, and had everything I needed for a good night sleep. The shower is great. The location is close to the WHW trail and was the best choice. Very close to a pub and a coffee place. I would stay there again.

Andrea and Rod was so nice and welcoming! The room was just great, well equiped, very comfortable bad, and the breakfast - made by personal invitation of every guest - was perfect. I'm fully recommend this place!
