We loved our stay here.

Kescoweth, a property with a bar, is situated in Montrose, 43 km from Discovery Point, 32 km from Glamis Castle, as well as 44 km from University of Dundee. The breakfast room is large, spacious and homely, with a wood burning stove, beautiful views and the walls adorned with interesting artwork. An old piano has been artfully converted into a bookshelf. The breakfast was delicious and well-presented. Kescoweth is situated on acres of stunning countryside with uninterrupted views all around. There is a small playground and friendly, tame goats for petting, as well as horses in the nearby fields. I would have loved to extend my stay, this place is so special and relaxing. The bedroom was very comfortable, spacious, with good furniture and very interesting framed pictures and memorabilia. It is obvious the owners are dog lovers as they have a wonderful collection of original paintings and drawings of dogs on the walls of the hallway and stairs. I left with a big smile on my face and a determination to return soon.

Boasting garden views, Kirkstyle Hideaway offers accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 16 km from Lunan Bay. Everything was wonderful! Angela is a wonderful hostess. The fridge was stocked with breakfast items and the microwave made it possible for me to heat up soup or something for dinner if I wanted. I really liked being able to take my breakfast/ dinner out to the little enclosed patio and appreciate being outside but still protected from the elements. The Hideaway is secluded if you want alone time but close enough to the town to still be able to participate in things. Tucked right across the street from St Vigeans Church and next to the little museum with Pictish carved stones (both of which are great to visit). It has beautiful walks into the countryside right behind the Hideaway and is only about a mile walk along a little creek to Arbroath Abbey. Another half mile walk through downtown and you’re at Arbroath Harbour. I couldn’t say enough wonderful things about this as it was perfect for my time there.
