Wished we could have stayed longer!

We noticed the place was rated “the most elegant courtyard” in town upon arrival, and it surely felt that way. It was designed in the style of traditional Chinese courtyard, with beautiful, living plants tastefully positioned throughout the property and in rooms - the hostess is also a floral artist. Everywhere you turn, it is a picture-perfect scene directly cut from a book or a movie. There are tea sets on table and newly harvested tea. A fruit plate was filled with the day’s fresh choices. Books are real, good books, not those only put there for decoration. The hotel staff was also very helpful. Seeing that we sometimes left our door ajar, she thoughtfully ignited mosquito-repellent herds around the vicinity. It is a place one might feel like living in a dream, surrounded by the ambiance of thousands of years of traditional Chinese culture. The moment you entered the hotel and closed the door behind you, you leave the hustling, bustling world outside, and entered one serene, zen and beautiful.

I had a wonderful stay. The host was very responsive and helpful. The guesthouse has an old charm but it definitely contains modern amenities like heater/ac, hot cold water, wifi, tv, electric water kettle, and universal outlets. The owner even dropped me off the bus station.

Staff was very helpful and provided us excellent recommendation for local eat out places. Due to the last minute travel plan change, we had to make changes to our reservation. Staff was able to accommodate without any questions. Overall we had a great experience and will stay here again next time when we visit TongLi!
