The location is incredible, great views and you have continous river sound in the background. It is quiet and the staff is super responsive for all questions and queries.
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
There is nothing to like on this property. Poor location and the photo's are very misleading. This property should not be listed as a bed and breakfast. The doors were broken and it seems that it is just rooms in somebody's house. There are scrap in the garden. We expected a certain standard to be able to list on Booking.com and this venue should not be on the site. We had to book another venue because we could not sleep at this property.
Lovely food prepared by Vicky, quiet and peaceful sitting looking at the view to the dam and beyond, walking the dogs around the estate, kids enjoyed the rowing boat on the dam. Just a great place to go for the weekend.
Ronel was extremely welcoming, such a great hostess - thank you. We felt so welcomed by her. Beautiful scenery and accommodation. Beautiful Arabian horses on the grounds. Great views from the swimming pool deck. The chef made us sourdough bread, which is out of this world - definitely request.
We stayed at De Ark to break our driving journey from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit after a long overnight flight, we needed somewhere quiet and comfortable to recharge and achieved exactly that. An oasis of calm in a busy town. Loved the beautiful furnishings, such an interesting building and friendly and welcoming hosts. The breakfast was perfect and served in such a lovely dining room. Particularly enjoyed being able to stretch out and relax in the roll top bath after being scrunched up in a plane all night.
