Friendly and welcoming staff, excellent value for money during the National Arts Festival - other places were double the cost and offered far less! Large room with some self-catering facilities and big bathroom. Warm and cosy with a home away from home feel . Nice big breakfast every morning and friendly smiling faces of staff. Great massage to be had at the spa too! Just on the edge of town , 5 mins from centre.

The fact that it's a quite place private and clean
Exceptionally clean and tidy with all necessary appliances - as well as a very useful gas stove and gas heater. The hosts are kind and communicative, but also give you a lot of space. Quiet neighborhood, conveniently located. The private entrance and parking space are great! Thoroughly recommended.
Quiet place, comfortable bed and room, microwave and fridge per room, option to do laundry. The location is a healthy 20 to 25 minutes walk away from the city centre. But that also means no traffic around and the freshest air, with nice views. And Makhanda/Grahamstown has (cheap) Uber, and the two Uber drivers of the town (two brothers) by now know the place.
The property is in a great location near the schools and universities and is a large home converted to a boutique hotel. as a result the rooms are large and homely and it was all tastefully decorated. The breakfast (included) was great and we also had a lovely dinner served for us.
This is a perfect stay if you need a quiet, private and safe space as a base when visiting the town (or Rhodes University). It is still close enough to the shops, restaurants, and campus for a very short drive or a pleasant walk. The guest house team is also very welcoming and accomodating.
Loved the location. Close to shops and the "city centre". Residence is very private and tranquil. The cottage is clean, neat and very spacious and has EVERYTHING you need. A real home away from home. The hosts are easily accessible.
Everything is very well executed. Yvonne, the owner and the staff cannot do more to make you feel welcome. The rooms are behind the main building, very private and quiet. Bathrooms are very well equipped. Then there is the restaurant, very fine dining in a historic building, a massive dining room and a lounge/breakfast room, well worth the visit.
