Location, price, availability, owner ensured that all was in order, confirmed availability, payment transferred to owner's account, contacted and verified. On arrival, meet and greet was very casual, owner explained in detail what the stay entailed, with coffee, tea, sugar and porridge available. Layout ensured 360⁰ vision, with mountain, largest part of town, as well as seaview from room windows and balcony. We appreciated the fact that the accommodation was smoking free, rustic furniture in mint condition, combined with all modern electrical amenities. Did not need an air-conditioned room as a breeze ensured cool air and continued smell from sea as wind direction changed. Approval by owner when enquiring about use of other facilities to prepare food was granted as we were going to use open fire and had to be very cautious about the danger and all precautions taken to prevent any fire hazard occurring. The place was found cleaned and well serviced. The tranquility was extra and sound of passing vehicles passing by dampened from the opposite side. We can definitely recommend Avondsrus Guesthouse for a breakaway, in our case, longer breakaway.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Chad. We stumbled upon this guesthouse when we were looking for a quiet en peaceful place at the to spend the last thee nights of our round-trip in South Africa. Hermanus seemed nice, but too busy, too much stimuli. We are very glad to have chosen for Villa Chad. It is a relatively small guesthouse with 5 luxury rooms around a nicely designed garden. The bed are very comfortable.
The guesthouse has African orientated decoration all over, giving it a special atmosphere.The hosts, Louise and Ernie, offer a generous breakfast with good quality products. Their hospitality is superb, providing all necessary information on possibilties to spend the day and about which restaurants to visit and which to avoid.
On top of that, there is a swimmingpool, big enough for cooling off after one of many possible hikings, or after relaxing in the sun on the sunbeds.

The place is too good for the price, nice quiet area, all you hear is the beach. Staff was really friendly and Liz was a great host, very friendly and she made sure we had a laugh and were enjoying our stay. She has very cute and friendly dogs too. Would highly recommend for anyone thinking of booking here.
