The staff were incredible. My son and his girlfriend were visiting Addo and when she said 'yes' to his proposal Kyla immediately organised champagne and a beautiful purple flowered heart to be put in their room. In addition to this Kyla was very very understanding and accommodating by moving them into a different room on their arrival. Truly, I cannot praise all the staff enough - I look forward to staying when my husband and I get to go away next year.

Beautiful setting. We preferred the rooms in the main building, not the stable cottages. Very quiet and private. You can always find a spot to relax. Very peaceful.
We were in Chalet 3. Wonderful, huge chalets, block house style, comfortable, big double bed on ground floor, 2 single beds above, but without wall between them and ground floor. Air conditioning, great kitchen, everything extremely lovely and cosy. Bathroom separated by full wall from ground to ceiling. Good dinner and full breakfast. Very nice Pool area - a quiet place in a private game reserve, not more than 7 gravel road minutes from R335
A big thank you to Heinrich, Judy, and the whole Avoca family.
This was our second time at Avoca River Cabins and again it was unforgettable.
From breakfast to dinner and especially the private dining right at the loft, everything was perfect.
The chutney chicken was fantastic <3

Nice, very charming little estate in peaceful surrounding next to the river. Perfect rooms with nice interior, private entrance and nice little outdoor area. Very good room service and well designed information booklet.
The location was great! A short drive away from the Addo Elephant National Park, and based in a quiet area with a private parking spot. The room was also big enough, and the bathroom as well. We had a friendly introduction with the terrain thanks to the friendly host, who referred us to a nice restaurant closeby.
The location is truly magical with great views and surrounded by nature - no noise from any roads! The gravel driveway (behind the gate) is long enough to make for a good/safe running route, which was an added bonus.
The vibe is definitely to book dinner and tours, which we weren't planning on doing and felt a little awkward at check in. I was also surprised that such a luxury stay had the cheapest hair dryer in the room.
