Lovely old Inn, with many of its original features, which we loved. The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable. Lots of nice little touches, snacks toiletries etc. Connie, the owner, was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. The homemade breakfast was delicious , made by Connie’s daughter. Nice parking area and gardens with seating. The whole area felt very safe. We would definitely recommend this Inn and would return if we revisit Freeport.

We had a wonderful one night stay. Dave and Kelleigh were prefect hosts and breakfast was excellent, topped off by grandma’s crumb cake. They are located a few blocks from the outlet stores and it was a perfect base for our shopping excursions. We would definitely stay again.

Fabulous acres of grounds leading to a beautiful salt marsh estuary - better views than the local trail. Super stylish Inn with a beautiful deck and gardens
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
The breakfast was exceptional. I enjoyed walking the neighborhood and seeing the Bald Eagles on my morning walk down the street before breakfast. I also enjoyed speaking with the proprietors and learning a bit about the house, neighborhood, and that area of Maine. As you can see, I would highly recommend the Black Lantern Bed and Breakfast.
Superb hosts, delicious home made breakfast, not your average fare at all! Great location for exploring Southern Maine too, local towns are very nice to visit.
Fantastic friendly and helpful host, excellent breakfast, everything rather small, but very nice and cozy. Parking place behind the house, view on the river, calm place. Clean and well furnished room and bathroom.
We thought Tom and Judy were great hosts, cheery and friendly (doggies included!). They were happy to interact with us, and gave us great tips on where to eat and what to visit.
We loved their warm, cozy home, and the attention to decor.
The breakfast was a gourmet experience, expertly prepared by Judy, and lovingly served by Tom.
