Ideal location. A peaceful neighbourhood near the beach. The perfect not-too-close and not-too-far distance from the airport and bustle of Stone Town. Safe. A gated large house, situated in a tranquil area, with staff to assist day and night. Generous hospitality. The hosts love Zanzibar and will ensure you do too. We expected a comfortable hotel stay and received much more. A warm and sincere welcome that catered to our wellbeing: prompt personal car service to activities and flights, inclusion in family meals and evening events, recommendations and coordination of activities, and a cultural experience. Professional hosting. You may have your own space or engage with family in a clean and tastefully decorated luxury house. If you enjoy your stay only a small fraction of what we did - you will leave happy. I would return and you should come.

The location of the hotel is really convenient. Although we stayed at the BB apartments which are not in the main building, we did not expecience any problems. There was always security at the front door which felt safe because Stone town can be a little bit scary to walk around alone especially at night. Enjoyed the breakfast by the sea!

Ms Shakira is a very attentive receptionist, sharp as a tack, quick to help with any general enquiries, be it taxis or money exchange. Ms Salma is lovely, she cooked me one of the tastiest meals I ate during my 10 days in Zanzibar! Thankyou ladies! Also, for the takeaway breakfast. Its only 5 minutes to get to the airport, so it's very handy if you have an early flight. Super comfortable beds! Budget friendly too.

For the price this place was really great. It was a little hard to find but they reach out and give you contact details ahead of time. Its in a really central location but still quiet. Place was very clean and room was large. Had a shared bathroom which was cleaned often. Was only slightly more than a hostel but definitely a step up

Amazing protected natural park, isolated and very quiet, possibility to watch a great variety of animals (kingfisher, bird of paradise, coconut crubs...) far from the Stone Town chaos. The 100% sostainibility of the Ecolodge is very remarkable.

Zenj House is simply fantastic. Great location, very calm - we even got served English breakfast with fresh juice. The host / host family is the nicest and most helpful you will ever meet and will go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be (e.g., order great Indian food at night, help find things at the airport’s lost and found). Thanks again for everything! Can only recommend 150% to anyone.

Fantastic! Above all expectations! What a place! Snorkeling the reef is just incredible, the food was plentiful and super good. The staff was very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. The Coconut crabs were everywhere and the beach was quiet and beautiful. The little huts were very neat. What an experience!! I highly recommend a few days at Chumbe Island! A visit I will remember always.

Absolutely a lovely place. The garden with magnificent threes, the historical context and a lovely small beach. Nice rooms and very quiet. A bit lagging behind on maintenance but plans for upgrading. However the place is just lovely, and relatively close to Stowntown and airport which makes the location perfect. Felt like home and will definitely come back.

Instant feeling of relaxation upon arrival to the resort. Very warm welcome and comfortable rooms, surrounded by a lush garden suitable for reading a book or just enjoying the nature. "Private" beach with sunbeads that are looked over by the staff, so no problem leaving the pad of phone when going for a swim. The food was super delicious and the variety was big enough so we could dine in several days.
