The place had a lovely calm vibe and the staff were super professional and friendly. I like the pool which was perfect for my son and myself to cool off as it’s cold and refreshing. The towels are supplied by the pool so no need to carry towels along and used towels can be left when finished swimming. The pool was available to use till midnight which was great.
The AC was quiet and very effective at keeping the room cool. The beds are hard which is standard in Zanzibar but I personally like that.
The breakfast was delicious and if you’re having dessert you have to try the chocolate fondant cake, delicious 😋.
The hotel was a 1 min walk from the ferry and easy access for walking around stone town.
Beds were made each morning while we ate breakfast.
There was a safe in the room to keep valuable belongings.
I liked the fact there was a water distiller on each floor so no need to purchase drinking water.

Location is on the edge of Stone Town, but where a taxi can drive to the front door. The proximity to Stone Town was great as our walking tour guide could pick us up there. The breakfast was in an airy upstairs room. They are catering for overseas tourists and there were choices for continental as well as a cooked breakfast. Our host was always on site and very helpful.
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
Amazing protected natural park, isolated and very quiet, possibility to watch a great variety of animals (kingfisher, bird of paradise, coconut crubs...) far from the Stone Town chaos. The 100% sostainibility of the Ecolodge is very remarkable.
Zenj House is simply fantastic. Great location, very calm - we even got served English breakfast with fresh juice. The host / host family is the nicest and most helpful you will ever meet and will go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be (e.g., order great Indian food at night, help find things at the airport’s lost and found). Thanks again for everything! Can only recommend 150% to anyone.
Fantastic! Above all expectations! What a place! Snorkeling the reef is just incredible, the food was plentiful and super good. The staff was very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. The Coconut crabs were everywhere and the beach was quiet and beautiful. The little huts were very neat. What an experience!! I highly recommend a few days at Chumbe Island! A visit I will remember always.
Absolutely a lovely place. The garden with magnificent threes, the historical context and a lovely small beach. Nice rooms and very quiet. A bit lagging behind on maintenance but plans for upgrading. However the place is just lovely, and relatively close to Stowntown and airport which makes the location perfect. Felt like home and will definitely come back.
Was really nice stay, the personal was very friendly, the breakfast was beautiful. A lot of fresh fruits at the buffet, also the quality was frech!

The room was big and clean, the bed was big and confortable as well.
Instant feeling of relaxation upon arrival to the resort. Very warm welcome and comfortable rooms, surrounded by a lush garden suitable for reading a book or just enjoying the nature. "Private" beach with sunbeads that are looked over by the staff, so no problem leaving the pad of phone when going for a swim. The food was super delicious and the variety was big enough so we could dine in several days.
