Our stay was superb.
The minsu is fairly new, opened for about a year. Everything worked and was clean. If you are taller than 6’1”, book a room without a ledge blocking the foot of the bed. I am 6’1”, and it was a tight fit. Otherwise, the beds were comfortable, the linens were fresh, the air conditioning worked well and was quiet, and the shower was modern and relaxing.
The communal lounge was excellent, with a full-size fridge, microwave, water dispenser, a big 4K TV, snacks, coffee and tea, and tables and chairs. There were also free, well-maintained bicycles, which were so convenient for getting around town. The location is just a few minutes ride to the train station and most stores and restaurants, yet it’s set on a residential street away from traffic.
Ms. Wang treated us with great hospitality and a personal touch, giving us delicious treats and helpful tips. When we first arrived, she had hot tea ready for us, and treated us like guests and friends from the start. She recommended the Acacia Trail, which is a stop along the beautiful Guanshan bicycle loop. It is a great hike – uphill, with a soaring view of the town. We even saw some wild monkeys.
Ms. Wang made our stay perfect, with wonderful memories. Highly recommended!

It was very clean and spacious and the free bikes were convenient. The owners were very kind and even offered us a free lift to the station because it was so hot.

I quite enjoyed my stay here – spacious, comfortable, quiet room and a kindly, helpful host. I stayed on the back-side of the house, away from the road, with a nice view out on an expansive lawn. The location isn’t too far from the main part of town so walking out to dinner is feasible. I didn’t need the WiFi so can’t comment. Good value for money.
We had a good stay at this place. It was much more affordable that other similar places in the area. But everything was clean, shower was strong and hot. The host was friendly and she did explain what to do in the area. We got to try some homemade food. There are also free bikes to use to cycle around. It’s next to a road but very quiet, does not face the road itself.
This was a perfect spot for an overnight stay when we were riding the East Coast Rift Valley. Located right on the bike path that circles the town it made arrival and departure very easy. Spotlessly clean, quiet, friendly hosts and a great breakfast.
One of the best places we stayed in Taiwan. The owner was great and very helpful and we easily communicated using google translate. There is an outdoor cooking area you can use and we could also do our laundry. The place is quiet and only a short walk from a supermarket and restaurants. We used the bikes that are available for free to explore Guanshan and neighbouring Chishang which are both lovely
