Beakfast was very good. Liked the quantity, quality and variety of food for breakfast. Also the sistem of preparing breakfast was great - like at home. You walk in a full equipped kitchen, full fridge, coffee machine,…and prepare whatever you like.

The architectural style of this small hotel is a unique mix of the old (stone walls) and the modern (glass and metal construction). It is located in the small village of Figueiredo das Donas - in the hills between Vouzela and Sao Pedro do Sul. There is a well preserved, 13th Century Roman Road that is directly outside the main gate and the local townsfolk were warm and inviting. Our bed was probably the most comfortable we enjoyed during our two weeks in Portugal. Breakfast was abundant and our hostess was kind and spoke terrific English. Although not associated with the hotel, our dinner at Margarida Restaurante in nearby Vouzela was delicious and memorable. Fernando and his wife, Margarida, are the owners (they double as waiter and chef. They are kind and friendly and the regional food they offer (we had their Arroz de Forno, Carne, Fumeiro, e Cogumelos) is out of this world!
