The place was great, a group of 14, we got there late, and the host opened up the kitchen. breakfast was great also.

The place we booked was closed due to some technical issues, but the commitments and booking was taken over by the hotel owner's relative and she accommodated us in her hotel, which was right across the road. So my review is about her hotel.
Our room was super cool, I really liked the room style and furniture. In our room we had a crib, so it looks like families with small kids are also welcome. The room was warm and did not have any side smell (though it was a rainy season and some other accommodations in our trip had this musty smell), the bed linen was white and super fresh. Aside from the room itself, I also liked the view to the valley from our window.
The hotel also has a restaurant with a-la carte and very decent food and drinks. Though the restaurant is downstairs we were not bothered by any loud noises. The hotel is a pick for those, who are aiming to visit National Park Serra da Estrela. I recommend staying in this hotel.

For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
The staff are so kind and helpful. They willingly obliged every request we made.
They even gave us some cherries when we left.
The room & bathroom were spotlessly clean.
The bed and pillows were comfortable.
The included breakfast was exceptional with a huge range of cold cuts, cheeses, fresh bread rolls, jams, fresh fruit.
The evening meal was also tasty with very generous proportions and very reasonably priced.
The hotel is located near some nice hiking too.
This hostel is located in a very quiet area in Serra da Estrela, where you can enjoy the silence and nature. They also have a bar, so it's not a problem there's no groceries around. The breakfast was amazing and the serra da estrela cheese is super!
Very welcoming feeling. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent with local produce and large portions. The dinner price was a good surprise given the location, same as a standard city lunch menu.
Great host too, ofered to store the motorbikes in the hotel foyer.
