The quality of the mattress is divine! We slept incredibly well, like angels. It's perfect for anyone in need of a good sleep cure—super comfortable and cosy. I highly recommend it! The best part was waking up naturally to the chirping of the birds in such a calm place

A really nice place to stay in the Douro Valley. We were in Tawny and it was warm and cosy on a wintry night, with a lovely view across the rio Tedo, vineyards and olive groves. The bed was firm, the shower hot and strong and we appreciated the gift of local chocolates, as well as the kettle and cups available in a communal space for an early morning brew. The cork-lined walls had a faintly sweet scent, quite unexpected but comforting and natural and good. Breakfast was excellent with seasonal fruit and yoghurt, fresh bread, cold meats and cheese. Unfortunately we were unable to experience the complimentary wine tasting offered to guests, but the cellar door area looked very welcoming. The Quinta had such a peaceful atmosphere, we would have liked to have stayed more than one night.

Our stay with Anna and Marco was absolutely amazing. We loved the story of this place, all the details and the passion of the owners with which was build this unique place. The view from our room and also from the living room and dining room was exactly as planned - like a painting overlooking the nice town of Pinhão. Must is also the dinner with different degustation menus. Overall very unique experience worth the price. The only downside was that we couldn't stay longer. Hopefully again in the future.

Situated in a beautiful village, the house met and exceeded all the needs for our short stay. You would need to have your own car to get to this village.
The downstairs sitting area and kitchen is spacious and comfortable. We didn’t use the kitchen other than to make tea and coffee, and the complimentary coffee capsules were greatly appreciated. We did note that the kitchen is very well equipped with all the necessary items for a comfortable and self catering stay.
The Wi-Fi speed is faster than most hotels we’ve stayed at. The bathroom is on the ground floor and is excellent, with a great shower and plenty of hot water.
Upstairs, the king size bed is very comfortable and we both enjoyed a great sleep. The church is really close and we so loved hearing the church bells ringing on the Sunday morning for mass. Parking is really easy just metres from the house. Refugio D’Anita is a place we would love to return to for a longer stay. The house is spotlessly clean from top to bottom. Thank you José

For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
Such a quaint bed and breakfast!!! The hosts were very gracious (even with a scheduling mistake on my part) and were very sweet and welcoming. The pool was AMAZING the view was better than the ones we saw on our rabelo boat cruise! The breakfast was an adorable surprise! It was like experiencing Portuguese life on vacation!
Pinhao is the most beautiful and quiet place and Casas Botelho Elias is a block of charming and quaint little apartments that are well equipped and maintained by the owner Pedro. All your needs are met, from the powerful AC unit (much needed in the summer heat), to the big and tasty breakfast all set out in your fridge when you arrive. Pedro is the best host and makes you feel right at home.
Great location with views down to the river, once you’ve conquered the steps! Wonderful to have our laundry done for no charge by Pedro’s mum. Quiet and peaceful day and night, lots of shady places to sit on the terrace.
Great location, stunning views, quiet. Host very kindly left us cheese, ham, butter and everything you would need for your first breakfast, greatly appreciated.
We were able to check in earlier. The place was clean and comfortable. Pedro was very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfy. Breakfast was great. The private terrace was cute. Very good location - close to the quintas, restaurants and supermarkets, but also quiet and secluded.
Modern, clean and very thoughtfully furnished: charging points/light by your bed and beds positioned in such way that even though it is a room of 6 people, it feels very private sleeping.
Furthermore, Pedro and Sara are great hosts. Ask Pedro for his suggestions for some good hiking trails in the area!
Clean quiet. Really friendly staffs. 10 minute walk to village of Pinhao but you would need to get taxi back as it’s on a steep hill. Private car park. Lovely swimming pool. Every room has a balcony Great value for money. They don’t serve food other than light breakfast
Great location, ten minute walk into town. Room large and clean well kitted out, with outside balcony with views looking over the river.
Entrance was electronic codes simple to use, handy not having to carry keys.
Breakfast was simple but adequate.
Our host could not do enough for us, charming and helpful.
