Staying at On the Way felt like staying at home with a caring mom :) Ana ensured I was comfortable, well-fed, well-informed, and happy. And the breakfast was out of this world! Super delicious, fresh, and varied. I felt pampered. The house is gorgeous, tastefully decorated, has a well-equipped kitchen, free tea and cookies, comfortable rooms and beds. We highly recommend this accommodation. It is basic but it is clean and safe. If you drive a car, the parking is available right next to the house (a beach front parking). If you do not have a car, there is a bus station few steps from the house the bus will take you to the metro station that is directly to Porto in 45'. Also, you can take uber or bolt taxi from this house to the metro station that is about 3 Euro or so.

Beautiful even out of season. Always clean throughout the hotel. Nice, friendly staff.
The place is quiet, peaceful - nothing happens here out of season. You have a beautiful, sandy beach and ideal conditions for walks in nature. You can easily reach the larger city, where you will find more shops and restaurants, on foot. Cheap Ubers make travel easier. There is a 10-minute walk to the stop where there are trains.
Nearby there is a restaurant by the beach, also open in October, where you can eat very good pizza.
A recently renovated property, Guest House Da Mata3 is situated in Póvoa de Varzim near Pontes Beach, Fragosinho Beach and Lagoa Beach. This beachfront property offers access to a terrace.

For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
Ana and her husband were very kind and friendly. They took care of all our questions and made our holidays very special.
The beds are cozy, the breakfast is delicious. The beach is very close and the area very quiet. The garden is also very nice to hang out and the hot shower in the garden gives you a Bali-feeling. The house is decorated with lovely details everywhere.
Just the weather wasn‘t perfect during our holidays in Mindelo - but if that would be under Anas control, I‘m sure that would have also eben perfect!

Location was great, 20 minutes drive from OPO Airport, steps away from the coastline and in a quiet town. The host welcomed me personally, gave me all the information I needed and more, and prepared a copious breakfast adapted to my preferences (all plant-based).
Great property with lots of space, and parking. Location was a quiet village, within walking distance of coastline. Having private pool was great for the kids, if a little on the cool side in November.
Great location. You stay in the middle of village, with all the bars and restaurants around - but it feels like you are alone with the ocean. View form the living room and roof terrace is outstanding and private, you don't anyone, if you are a little bit further form the railings. Feels like at home, thanks to nice decoration and lots of little things. Lot's of beautiful tableware and glasses, lot's of kitchenware. Great for self catering. Bars around are nice too.
