The staff! We checked in and 2 hours later our original flight was cancelled. In order to make our flight to the US the next day, we had to leave immediately for the airport to catch an earlier flight. Needless to say we were in a slight panic to get to the airport to insure our new flight and connections. The young woman at the hotel immediately called a taxi which showed up promptly. The hotel also paid for the taxi and insured we were dropped at the correct location. We were successful in getting another flight due to her help. Even though we weren’t able to enjoy the hotel very long we were pleased with our room, location and especially the staff.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The property promotes relaxation which I loved. I said multiple times that I could spend days there without leaving. The room was lovely - I really liked the shower. The yard is gorgeous! I felt childlike again - playing in the pool, on the trampoline, basketball, badminton and checking on the chickens.
The common areas in the house were very nice. I’m always worried about the cleanliness of common areas but, to my surprise, everything was clean.
It’s close to the airport which is what we needed.

I was given a small duplex with kitchenette and living room downstairs and bedroom and bath upstairs. It was perfect and there was a large garden. I had tea after my dinner and was left a small cupcake. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding.

First of all, Susana was amazing. When I couldn’t find my way there from the Poets Inn (LOL- it’s next door!), she came and found me and carried my bags which was so kind. Then, she helped me figure out some travel questions and offered to hold my luggage for me while I figured out my stages of the Camino.
The apartment itself is very nice and immaculate. I slept so well in the comfortable bed! The location can not be beat! Its close to so many things and I walked everywhere. I can’t recommend this place enough. So much to love about it. I will be back for sure.

If you are walking the Coastal or Senda Litoral Camino, staying at Smiling Places is a MUST. There you will be greeted with warmth and love and hospitality. It feels like being home. The rooms are beautiful and clean and everything you need is there. The breakfast is bountiful. The best thing is Elizabete, the hostess. She is so lovely. If you start from Porto and it is your first day, meeting her a real gift, because she is an introduction to the friendliness of the Portuguese. She will greet you like she's known you forever, like you are family. I highly recommend staying here. You deserve it.

Location was wonderful. The staff were all helpful, friendly and welcoming. Quiet, safe area. Rooftop breakfast area and bar (though it was raining during our visit). Would stay again!

Great location for overnight. Airport terminal in 7 minutes by walk. Metro station Botica in a 3 minutes by walk. You need 30 minutes to get to the city center
Very good hotel, at five minutes walk from the Airport and Metro to city center. Television with lots of channels in all languages. Electric window shutters. Very quiet neighborhood. Good morning breakfast delivered when you wake up. Book this hotel !
Very convenient within 10 minutes walk from airport building. Easy to find and quick and efficient check in. Comfortable room and bed, relatively quiet and decent breakfast. Would definitely stay again. If you arrive in time for an evening meal I can recommend O Banquinho, just a short, well lit walk from the hotel and opposite Botica Metro. Cheap local Portuguese menu, always busy and good friendly service but cash only.
