The place we stayed was lovely, with a beautiful balcony overlooking the vineyards and the city. The manager, a sweet elderly lady, offered us a glass of port wine, even though she didn’t speak English. We informed her son that we needed to leave early the next day, and he mentioned we could get a free breakfast nearby with a coupon. Unfortunately, we didn’t know where it was, so we continued on our trip.

The property is located about eight minutes off the main road up the valley. It is a steep windy drive, but stunning the entire way. It is a very small hotel with really only four rooms. There is no restaurant or food service of any kind, it is an out-of-the-way place to stay that is amazing. They have a beautiful Upstairs room where they serve an incredible breakfast in the morning for you, and you can grab Wine or other drinks out of the refrigerator anytime you want. There is an absolutely breathtaking patio and inground pool with views across the valley. It is simply amazing.
José or “Ze” was at the reception when we checked in. It should also be noted that the entire grounds are gated to come in and out with your car as well. He was extremely helpful to us and set up both a boat trip and a Wine Tasting for us as well as he made dinner reservations for us. He truly went above and beyond and was texting with me on WhatsApp on his day off at home trying to make these plans for us. he truly went above and beyond in every way for our stay, and made it so enjoyable. This is one of the most peaceful places we have ever stayed as it is deadly quiet and you are so far from anything that all you can hear is yourself. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a quiet stay. 12 minutes from Pinhão or 10 minutes from Regua.
We could not recommend the small hotel more. It is 1,000,000 miles from anything, yet less than five minutes from the village below and close enough to both towns for dinner. It is a truly wonderful place and José was an absolutely amazing host and help.
Providing garden views, Casa de São Domingos in Peso da Régua offers accommodations, pool with a view, a garden, a bar, and a shared lounge.

Great views, comfortable room and bed. Large bathroom. Manuel, the owner, was terrific. Drove us to the train station when a taxi couldn’t be found. It is in a nice location to walk to town from. Beautiful old family home.

Amazing little gem in a tiny Douro town. Dinner was fantastic - about 6 different appies, baked cod, a specialty apple dessert, all prepared fresh for our family and served with a lot of care. Excellent hosts

The guesthouse is so unassuming from the outside, you are welcomed at the bakery by the staff and shown upstairs and upon opening the door you are so surprised! The interior design of the room is so functional, beautiful and cozy. Minibar is stocked, there is a safe and a pod based coffee station. The internet is strong and the bathroom is large with an amazing shower. The location is very central so you can walk to many restaurants and some quintas.

Cecilia is a great host, communicated proactively, welcomed us and made us feel very at home. The standalone cottage on quinta Casa do Poco is very comfortable and surrounded by fields of grape vines. We enjoyed a vineyard tour with Cecilia and saw some of their grape pressing process in action. Then tasted some of their great wines accompanied by snacks made with some of Cecilia's tomatoes, figs, olive oil and jam.
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
Definitely one of most beautiful places I have ever seen. Big old house made of stones surrounded by flowers, winyards and gardens. Breathtaking wiew of Douro and the hills covered by winyards. The place is extremely quiet and friendly. Everything was clean and very cosy. Very good breakfast made partially from their own products. You can buy wine, which is also very good. Nobody speaks English, but you can easily communicate as the host family is very friendly.
The view of the Duoro River is spectacular from this little quaint
B & B. Location is perfect for day trips to the many port quintas along the river. Very comfortable bed and breakfast was wonderful.
Parking on site. Host was very nice.
Excellent breakfast, loved the walking trails in the area. Unfortunately it was raining a lot when we went, but there are kayaks that guests can take out. Loved the wine tour.
I liked: - the friendly, attentive host;
- the beautiful, charming old house;
- the wine tasting and the wine in the hotel room for an exceptional price;
- the view of the river and the hills;
- the stylish interior design;
- the curious dogs;
- the fresh, homemade breakfast;
- the pool area inviting to chill at;
- the quiet location;
- nice hotel guests.

Excellent breakfast served in a basket. We could enjoy it on our balcony with amazing views of the Douro (the highlight of this B& B
We really enjoyed our 3 nights at Tomas Barqueiro B &B
