Firstly, the customer service was excellent. I really appreciated the help of Duarte in introducing us to the residence and making us feel comfortable. We stayed in the apartment - which was even more than we had expected in its comfort and design. The entire building was beautiful, and we also appreciated the garden, pool and honesty bar. Breakfast was also excellent. Elegant - and great value. Elvas is also also a beautiful town.

The Monte da Graca was an excellent choice for our two night stay in Elvas. It's large grounds with pool, min-football court, beautiful plantings, small on-site restaurant, and covered pavilion with tables and sitting area, combine to make a peaceful resort-like experience. The property is located north of the city off the ring road and down a quiet orchard-lined lane. It was easy to reach by car and a good value considering all of the many facilities.
Our beautiful room was large, quiet, cool, and furnished in traditional wood furniture and tile. The bath was large and fully functional. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The ample cooked breakfast, served in the lodge's breakfast room, with fresh orange juice and many other choices was outstanding.
Importantly, the Monte da Graca has free, on-site Parking. We visited Elvas during the Easter school holidays when parking was very difficult in town. We found that we could safely walk from the Monte da Graca up the hill, through the town wall, and into the old city in about 20 minutes. Walking was faster and less stressful than our aborted attempt to drive to the far side of town to park only to find no available space. As a bonus walking up via the quiet north entrance provided an opportunity to appreciate and photograph the impressive fortifications that surround Elvas.
Note, we did not have an opportunity to try the on site restaurant, but did see that they were doing traditional BBQ.

For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
Great location for stopover in this historic building. Excellent parking. Good food and pleasant garden area to sit in for drinks. Quiet room - conveniently close to the sauna/spa.
Great location in the centre; a fully equipped kitchen; the bathroom was right next to the room and only shared with the neighbouring room. The shower was excellent. Everything was clean and new. It's very quiet at night as the street next to it is pedestrian.

The ambiance is great and it’s cheap for what you get. The suites are private, very comfortable and spacious! It ‘s nice to have your own terrace, but it ‘s also nice to walk in the beautiful shared garden. I loved the swimming pool too. The breakfast is always included! It’ s not an extended breakfast buffet, but it’s enough and they make you your eggs with a friendly smile. It’ s rural and quiet but still close to Elvas.
We were pleased with everything: the location just in side the city wall (with free private parking), the large and attractively decorated room and bathroom with lots of space and a large bath with hydromassage jets, the attractive patio where we enjoyed an early evening drink and the excellent breakfast - inlcuding local treats like Elvas plums. In addition, all the staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful.
The location was very convenient to the old town centre. Parking was secure onsite behind the hotel. The rooms are large and very quiet. Great breakfast with hot & cold options and fresh fruit. The hotel is very old and funky.
