It’s set back up the mountain about 10-minutes once you reach Lucmabamba. The rooms are amazing, each with their own private toilet, the windows have insect netting on them so you can open them at night as well. The showers are clean and the water warm. We stayed in the two rooms upstairs, and had a deck with the most comfortable chairs, board/card games.
The best part of the stay are Mery and her family. They are exceptional hosts! When we arrived, clearly tired and physically exhausted from being I the trail, they immediately gave us cafe de leche, using the coffee the roast on site. Their coffee is 10/10 delicious!
For dinner, and breakfast, they made such amazing meals as well. When we left the next morning for the final leg of the Salkantay Trek, Mery gave each of us a banana and pack of Oreos for the climb up the mountain.
This was hands-down the absolute best Refugio we stayed in during our Peru trip!

Dina and Mario were super nice. They made us breakfast and gave us a tour to Cocalmayo Hot Springs and Vertikal Ziplining across the valley. It was epic! Super nice people. I am coming back for sure.

Very spacious and clean. So close to the bus ticket booth and the bus stop for Machu Picchu. The hostel even gave me a pack of snacks for the hike with a flag of my country. Plus, some souvenirs are sold at better prices here so I bought things here. The staff is really nice, too.

The location is great. However, in Agua Calientes, all hotels are close to everything since the village is small.
Breakfast is served between 5:00 and 8:00 am, which is great for people visiting Machu Picchu in the morning. If you want scrambled eggs, please make sure you give yourself an extra 15 min for breakfast because it takes a lot of time to get them. We ordered the eggs but had to leave for the bus before they were ready.
My biggest issue was the lack of hot water in the shower.
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
