Familia Celso was amazing. Their home and the accommodations were peaceful and calm. We were warm and comfortable and well taken-care-of. They fed us a lovely dinner and breakfast. They taught us a lot about their community and the history of the island, and gave us helpful maps and ideas of where we could go to explore the island on our own in the afternoon and the next morning.

An amazing and unforgettable experience. Mario and Julia were the best hosts. They showed us all over the island, answered all questions in detail and are just one of the nicest people we have ever met around the world.
The island is a magical place, rarely any disturbing noises, just nature and an tranquil lifestyle.
The nature is absolutely stunning. If you come to the island make sure to stay at least 1, better 2 or more nights to fully discover the island and to give your mind and soul a proper reset!
Rooms were very comfy with 24h electricity and in our case a hot shared shower.
You can eat lunch at the local community restaurant and Julia will make breakfast and dinner for a very reasonable price. Local crafts can be bought directly from them or from other families at the main square. These products can not be found in any other place! Just make sure to bring enough cash as there is no ATM on the island and only one little store accepts card payment.
If you are in Peru or in Bolivia make sure to spend at least 2 nights here, you will not regret it!

My experience on Taquile Island was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning natural beauty. Within minutes, I found myself sitting on the edge of a cliff, overlooking the serene and majestic Lake Titicaca. The panoramic views were a feast for the eyes, offering a sense of tranquility and awe.
The lodging itself was a perfect blend of comfort and authenticity, allowing me to immerse myself fully in the island's unique charm. The hosts were exceptionally welcoming, making me feel right at home with their warm hospitality and local insights.
Every aspect of my stay was thoughtfully tailored to enhance my connection with the island’s culture and natural splendor. Whether it was the peaceful mornings watching the sunrise over the lake or the star-filled nights, each moment was a treasure.

A place in heaven. So quiet, so peaceful. The view is one of the best things I have ever seen in my life. The meals prepared by the family were simple, but very delicious and we were really looking forward to them. I recommend this place, just be sure make a left turn after stop no.4, on the map they send to, off road to avoid getting lost like us :)
Charming room with comfortable beds and tons of warm blankets. Delicious food- especially the soups. Celso and his wife were lovely and welcoming and generous with their time. We liked the cats too.
Very warm welcome from Juana and Celso. Nice and cosy place to stay and chill. Celso will guide you to the best spots of taquile island from Pachamama temple, inca ruins, best sunset spot, to playa. They are great host with big heart. I truly recommend staying with them. They will tell you everything about island history, tradition, and more!
Just remember not taking all your luggage with you ...cause the island is hilly and the hike can be a bit challenging with heavy bags.
I totally recommend the house of Edwin, the place is wonderful and so peaceful in the precious island of Taquille. Moreover, which made the experience unique and fabulous was the kindness of Edwin the host, bringing you to every part of the island, finding private taxi if you want to make a visit to the other island of Amantani.
If you want a tradicional experience and a stay in a little piece of paradise, that’s the place.
We stayed one night with Juliana and Mario. They were very welcoming, they showed us around the Island and explained us their way of living (in Spanish). We stayed in a lovely room with private bathroom (with hot water). Also there were enough blankets during the night so we never got cold.
Breakfast was included, but we did also eat dinner at the Hospedaje for 5 dollar. Lunch we ate at a little Restaurant in the Main Plaza.
We really enjoyed our time on Taquile. The Island is worth it to spend more than just one day there.
The location of the house is perfect: great view, easy to get to and quiet to enjoy the atmosphere of the island!
You have your own room with a bathroom (including a hot shower) just next to you!
The family sleeps a few doors further but is always available for upcoming questions or requests!
The dining area is as well well located and offers enough space to sit and eat together while sharing stories :)
