We had a wonderful stay at Loch Vista, with gorgeous views of Lake Te Anau and the surrounding mountains of Fiordland National Park. It’s a very short drive from the amenities and restaurants of the town of Te Anau but it’s an oasis of calm well above all the crowds. Breakfast was generous and fresh (great fruit, coffee, and the delicious dairy products that New Zealand is famous for) and the common room was available for lounging with coffee or tea throughout our stay. Phil is a remarkably welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful host, ready to chat with you about his favorite spots in the area. He also introduced us to his sheep in the pasture overlooking the lake, and let us feed it treats. He also went above and beyond in searching our room on our behalf after we lost a piece of jewelry (which turned up). We can’t recommend the Loch Vista highly enough!

Our stay at the Garden Room was fantastic. Jane met us when we arrived to make sure we found the place in the rain and got settled into the room. The room was clean and very well-organized, and stocked with food for breakfast in the morning. It was the perfect location to get to Te Anau (6 min drive) and Milford Sound (2 hour drive) and was a comfy spot to relax after full days out and about. Before we left, Jane was nice enough to take us over to meet her alpacas, which was a lovely addition to an already great stay.

Beautiful bed / breakfast that
is as fantastic as home.
Our hosts, Jeff and Jan, go out of their way to make this a first class experience.
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
Great location, walking distance to town. The room was clean, warm and plenty of space. Nice quiet location as well.
Plenty of amenities with the shared kitchen and laundry onsite.
We stayed the Luxmore Chalet. It was one of the most satisfying stays we had in New Zealand so far. We really enjoyed the chalet, the arrangements and the great view from almost all windows of the house. Such a quiet and charming place. The host Helen was really friendly, and she even baked a cake since we visited for my wife's birthday and couldn't find a good place to order cake.
Lovely room and bathroom. Clean quiet and warm. Private entry. Friendly greeting on arrival. Private deck with table and chairs. Good filter coffee provided with tea milk and sugar.
We loved this whole place. Jane was there to greet us and showed us everything about the accommodation. She had thought of everything, even had a special birthday treat for my husband. The view from the little balcony over the property was absolutely amazing. The facilities were exceptional - the bed was so comfy, the kitchenet was fantastic and the bathroom was immaculate. This tiny boutique house is about 10 minutes out from the main town centre of Te Anua and was so peaceful and quiet.
loved our room/area, affordable with private bathroom so great for couple. Easy to cook and store food, great location and nice and quiet even with lots of people staying single nights between tramps etc.
Definitely would stay again. The list of likes is long.... Quiet room, fabulous view, great hosts, great location, easy walking distance to township and restaurants. Would be the cleanest motel we have ever stayed in!
