I got overcharged by A LOT. Due to conflict between the mum and another guest- she got so stressed and overly erratic I couldn't even speak to communicate truth/real things.... I would have had to have screamed at her or threatened her with the police to pay the right amount. I stayed 4 nights- actually cancelled 3 nights so she wouldn't have to pay tax on Booking. My extra 3 nights came to 1500 but she charged me 2500 (pretty disgraceful really... ).
There was a young man who was winding up her and her 2 daughter and she took it out on me. I was quiet, respectful, and very kind to her and her children. I am a young solo female traveler myself, so I think the way I got treated was pretty horrendous. In the end I paid twice- first time for my first night and one meal plus coffee + a bus ticket (paid in full). Then jut before I left I paid for 3 nights plus tax, my breakfast, and drinks... she tried to charge me
AGAIN for my first night's dinner AND THEN ADDED 1K tax!!!
I left within the hour as the energy became dangerous, for me...
Regardless of any confusion from stress, she KNOWINGLY added the 1K tax. So in my eyes, this is very shameful. (+ This was on the mum only, no-one else.)

An amazing and unique location right on the river front - our room was basic but directly overlooking the river and had everything we needed. We saw animals from our balcony and the lovely riverbank seating spots on more than day! Also a very easy walk, about 15 mins, into town.
The staff are all incredibly kind and helpful and went out of their way to help with anything we needed. We booked 2 jungle walks through the guesthouse (one in the national park and one in the buffer zone) and had very knowledgeable guides both days (Manu & Sudash and Maya & Aspen).
Food also was delicious - we had breakfast, some packed lunches for our jungle walks and dinner and it was all delicious with plenty of options.
We booked this place for 2 nights and ended up staying for 4, highly recommended!

Tara guest house is situated close to the town center but also far enough to enjoy quite, calm enviroment. It is close to the river where we could already find wild life (crocodiles and others) but it is safe. Guest house has nice terrase, from where we could observe working elephants walking the street. The staff is extremly nice, very helpful and with them we also had done the jungle walk, which was extraordinary experience. Definately take those 2 if you plan jungle walk.

The Hotelstuff was really friendly and helped us to organize the bus after our stay in the hotel.
The safari we booked at the hotel was also really greate. We did the canoing in the morning and the trekking in the afternoon. We saw rhinos crocodiles and a lot more animals.
The jeep safari the day after was also greate. We saw a kingfisher, rhino, a lot of other animals.

It is really worth the money. The staff was fine, they offered us safari with the guide also they offered us room with AC but we did not take it. The room was humid, but it was clean. The bed was really hard. The bathroom was also ok but the water was cold. Like after 15 minutes it started to be a little bit warm. When we asked the staff also offered us hot water so we could make tea or coffee. To sum it up do not expect any luxury but if you wanna save money it is a great place for you.

The staff were super and looked out for me very well. The room was spacious and the bed comfy.
There was a great drying area on the roof for clothes.
The location was super for our purposes.
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
We spent a wonderful time in Hotel National Park. Suraj is an amazing host. He arranged our trek in Sauhara and always treated us as his brother and his sister.
We also had the chance to do a sunset walk with Thikak Tharu. This guide has a deep knowledge of the jungle and speaks English very well ⭐️
I highly recommend this charming place if you are passing through Sauhara
My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was worth the money. Everyone is friendly, especially the owner, who does everything to help you. They helped us book tours, and the establishment + tours are cheaper than if you were to book them as a tour from Kathmandu. I’d recommend the room with AC, because it’s hot. Despite the occasional power outage, everything was good.
The location is perfect, quiet and calm, but close to the center if you wanna hangout for dinner. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable.
The staff is incredible, always smiling and giving you advices or help to organize your activities in Chitwan National park. The park itself is gorgeous and the jungle walk is definitely one of the highlights !
Wondeful setting, The resort is a couple of kilometres from the town in a quiet rural setting. The resort has been built to a very high standard, The main main of the resort has a spacious reception area, where we were greeted with fruits Juice whilst we checked in. We were show to a bungalow by very helpful and eager to please hotel staff. The bungalow was spacious and layout of the room was tastefully laid out. There was a big swimming pool, next to a lake which was beautiful.
Lovely hotel setup with individual room ‘cabins’ arranged around the lake, with an abundance of birds. The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. Very attentive staff. Great breakfast and good food at the restaurant. Wonderful pool overlooking the lake. The location is slightly outside the hustle and bustle of Sauraha but easy to get a cheap Tuktuk to and from the centre. It’s a relatively new hotel, hence only having a few reviews on here, so don’t be put off by that!
Chital Lodge is simple yet utterly charming. I wasn’t sure whether to go for it as I had the budget to be a little more extravagant, but I’m so glad I did. The energy of the place is incredible credibly sweet and relaxed. I took the jungle keep your and full day safari which are well worth it.
Everything is very well thought out and the cooking was amazing! Some of the best food of my entire trip.
Chital lodge is a very nice place, far away from the crowds. It is operated by Bishnu Bhusal who runs the place together with his lovely wife. Bishnu is also the guide who takes you in to the park by foot, jeep or by boat. He has lived here all his life and can tell you a lot about the animals and nature inside the park. Moreover the prices for safaris and excursions are quite cheap. If you want to have a real chance in meeting the true animals of Chitwan, my advice is to book Chital Lodge in Meghauli.
