If you are looking for something else than the boring resorts, this is the place to stay over. Madame Solange was very helpful with us with organizing the daily trips to the main attractions of the island (Nosy Sakatia, Nosy Iranja, Lokobe forest). A plus for the breakfast. Maybe a little bit expensive, compared to the average prices of Madagascar, but full of malgascian delicacies. Strongly recommended.

JJ ET EUPHRASIE Lodge is set in Nosy Be and has a pool with a view and garden views. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay.

The rooms are very comfortable and the balcony is a really nice perk. It is very peaceful and quiet. Staff was very kind although they sometimes did not immediately understand my requests, they were very friendly and helpful. The view of the sea is breathtaking and worth the set of stairs! It is just a few minutes away from the beach and many great restaurants among which Nosy lodge and L’Ouest. Also the diving center (scuba Nosy Be) is super close by and really good!

It was quite and out of the way. Restaurants and beach were a short walk. The hosts were great, took me to the shops and the exchange. The plunge pool, so good on a hot day. They showed me how to negotiate with tuc-tuc drivers, and get the proper price. There is a great restaurant on the beach, it is on the far left hand of the beach with the sea behind you. It is run by a French man, but he speaks English and Italian, great fish, as good as any top restaurant in Paris, or London.

Giannie, the host, was incredible. She took great care of us during our stay and then went above and beyond afterwards. We had mistakenly packed a couple of their towels which she came to collect from the next hotel we stayed at. She organized an airport transfer at a much better rate than our next hotel offered. When our next hotel couldn't arrange a babysitter she found one. And, lastly, when our son left his small suitcase in the taxi that we took to the airport, she arranged to get it back and hold it at Villa Vintana until we returned again. Gracious and cheerful from start to finish. The common areas are limited, but they make the best of them--some board games, games for the kids, TV and lounge area. And they organized tours at a much better rate than other hotels. Food and drink prices were also better value than other restaurants or hotels we went to.

It was clean and in a convenient spot in town. Staff were great and helpful, and the dinner / brekky was prompt. The wifi was also really good and it was just the exact type of stay I hoped for.
