The entire staff at the property was wonderful. Our host was wonderful as well. She assisted getting rides arranged to and from the property. She also assisted getting a wonderful safari experience scheduled for us. The food was delicious as well. All native Sri Lankan dishes.

My hosts couldn’t have made me feel any more welcome. They are kind and generous. As a single female traveller I felt very secure in their compound. I strongly advice you book your safari with your host. He’s a confident driver with a keen eye for leopards. Don’t think saving money will serve you well, take a private tour. The guest house is situated close to the park and near to the road the dissects the park. Take an evening safari on the road if you can. The accommodation is very clean. I found it hard to leave these lovely people.

Met our expectations in that we knew we were choosing something rustic, with a general feeling of communal living. We appreciated it being a little further from town in a quiet neighborhood and the fun, funky artistic vibe and friendly proprietor. He offered some insight into the location, its place in religious context and suggestions on sites we might be interested in.

It's a large old hotel, catering to the many pilgrims who travel through Kataragama. But they were very welcoming to we Western tourists! We took a room with a private balcony, but it was a claustrophobic small area out the back, the large shared terrace at front was much more attractive.
Because they are not catering to Westerners, the price is very good value. As everywhere, the staff were so kind, helpful and welcoming, in spite of little English being spoken. There is also a pool! (though we didn't use it).
The manager of the residence, Inbaraj, is amazing. He ensures that everything is ok and he also explained to us the different trees they have. Staff is also worderful. We had dinner there and it was delicious. Quiet and peaceful place, perfect for resting. Undoubtedly, we will return next time. Thank you for your time and dedication!! :)
Good location to the yala park. Great host who arranged and guided us on an excellent safari trip where we were able to see a leopard and elephants from very closeby. We staid the full afternoon in the park and afterwards enjoyed an excellent dinner prepared by the host en his wife. Highly recommended.
Nice rooms, clean and comfortable. Great location from Yala national park and staff were able to organise the safari and food for us! Very friendly. the village of Katagamuwa is also a lovely local village with a rich religious and spiritual history. Quaint but beautiful. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is located around a quiet area away from the main road. It's walking distance to the town & temple. The rooms are well maintained & clean including the bathrooms. Also, has a private parking area. The staff is friendly as well.
