If you want amazing views outside of the bustle, overlooking the tea plantations and perches up above the town, this is the spot for you! We had an amazing stay here, the staff go above and beyond for their guests from the minute you get there. They ensure you are comfortable and checked in with us multiple times during the stay. Our favorite parts were the view from the place, our dinner (curry buffet dinner, little pricier but so worth it!) and the rooms themselves were super clean and bright with lots of natural light. Would have stayed an extra night if we could.

It is located on the hilltop with beautiful views over the valley. Haputale itself is a magical town, one of the most beautiful ones in Sri Lanka. The host was great with arranging of trips around (Horton NP, Lipton Seat and Diyaluma Falls) that were tailored to our needs and very reasonably priced. We really appreciated it!

The place was great with amazing views and a calm atmosphere. You hardly ever hear any vehicle traffic. You could hear a lot of birds, especially in the morning.
The staff did an amazing job to make us comfortable and made us delicious meals. The owner, Muni lives next door and was very responsive to all our questions and requests.

My friends and I loved our stay at Il Vilino Haputale. The view from the balcony is extraordinary. The rooms were very comfortable. The best part about our stay is the kind host and his family and staff. He truly treated us as family during our stay. The dinner they prepared was wonderful, and he went out of his way to make sure it meet all of our dietary needs and requests. Additionally, the next day he let us store our bags in the room for hours after check out time and would not charge us an additional fee. I cannot recommend this guesthouse highly enough.

I've personally visited the rest 6 years ago with my friends and the smile and warmth of the hosts has never wavered despite the constant coldness of haputale. :). Rooms were clean, Hot water throughout the day, Plenty of stuff and places just near their rest to walk/hike to. go for a local a meal by them, you will not be disappointed! Polo Region Rest Inn is an authentic homestay located approximately 1.5 km from Haputale. It’s an easy walk to town or a 200 rupee ride by tuk tuk. The family is adorable and for the few days you are there, you will feel included. The place is primarily managed by Sewwandi, a lovely young woman with a friendly smile and an easygoing demeanor. She speaks excellent English and can help you get organized so that you make the most of your stay in Haputale. They have a large poster in the main living area that outlines all the major attractions including hikes, shrines, historic monuments, tea factories, etc. I found it to be immensely helpful. My room was small and basic with a stunning view from the terrace. I had warm water for bathing and two thick bkankets on my bed. My booking included breakfasts which were substantial. They offered both western and Sri Lankan options. There was a little family noise in the evening but it was not excessive and did not go on late into the night. You will definitely hear the train go by but I found it to be more romantic than anoying. Polo Region Rest Inn offers meals and has an extensive menu; just let Sewwandi know in advance. There are also several restaurants nearby. The warm hospitality of Sewwandi and her family made my stay extra memorable. Excellent value and highly recommended!

I loved the location, wich is close to the city center, but at the same time quiet and with an amazing view. We had a room on the top floor with a balcony to sit on and enjoy the view of the hills and valley.

The Woods is a quiet and calm place for those who would like to experience the nature and to get away from a busy lifestyle. There is no TV and limited internet signal which creates a good opportunity to connect with nature and live a simple life. The property is bordering to it's private waterfall which allows us to enjoy the nature in peace. The woods team is very caring. The food is absolutely amazing. Very fresh and some ingredients are picked from the property itself.

Excellent location very close to the bus station. It's on the edge of the hill and has very good views. The Guest house is run by a really sweet and friendly couple. Good English is spoken. Nice outdoor sitting area on both floors. I had the cheapest room which was clean and small but cozy and had a private bathroom. There is a variety of rooms, some even with private furnished balconies with an excellent view. There's a restaurant downstairs, and oh yeah, the lady can cook. Excellent food. Cold beers available too

A very nice designer boutique hotel with great potential. All rooms have a private terrace and beautiful views of the tea plantations. Especilally the dining area on the top floor is charming, the view is breathtaking.
The hotel is a short walk from the main road in Haputale but very tranquil and quiet. The views are amazing. The room was spacious with a fab powerful hot shower and the bed was king size with lovely white linen. We had a big balcony and we could look over the tea plantations and gardens below us far out to the distant hills and mountains. We had a fantastic meal - curry and rice with lots of beautifully cooked vegetable dishes, it was one of the best curries we have ever had. The owner and his wife were helpful and charming.
