The hotel is a work-in-progress. It's on a hill with a bunker style entrance with no reception. You might seem like you've made a mistake in booking but rest assured once you arrive they will go above and beyond to make your stay a very pleasant one.
We chose it for the location and it's proximity to Adams Peak. Only about 400 meters to the start.
The staff very friendly. They're a small family run inn with everyone going over and above to make your stay as comfortable possie and they do it with a smile. Nimal, his wife, brother and other staff are a great team of hospitable people.
The food was very tasty and flavourful. We had all 3 meals in the two days we stayed whilst climbing Adams peak and they made sure the food was served hot and I felt like I was having home cooked meals. Sri lankan food was done well. The sandwiches were simple but enjoyable and filling. The curries were thick and flavourful. They weren't stingy on ingredients and portion sizes either.
The toilets are new and elegantly designed with good hot water. I'm very fussy about the bathrooms being clean and also pleasing to the eye and I was not disappointed.
In a central area of Adams Peak, Vegetable Garden House features sea views from the patio.

Vegetable Garden House is perfectly located off the main road next to a peaceful river with beautiful views of nearby Adam’s Peak. I was welcomed by the host and shared an amazing home cooked dinner with the other guests, with produce sourced from the family’s garden. It is an ideal location for an early morning start on Adam’s Peak and I was welcomed back with another delicious meal of breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble with the hosts organising pick up / drop off from Hatton station for me with a great driver who showed me some great view points along the way.

The host was very helpful, the room was quiet, clean and comfortable, and the dinner was fairly priced and delicious. The host also linked me with Sasi, his handyman/tuktuk driver, to take me on a ride around the local villages, lake, waterfalls and tea plantations. 10/10 recommended, Sasi is the sweetest and even invited me to meet his lovely family. He doesn't speak a lot of English, but he is so nice and tries his best. Loved Adam's Peak as well!
