Lovely little island house with the sweetest staff. They helped us get a rental car last minute and even drove us to pick it up! Breakfast was yummy and our room and beds were comfortable. The location was beautiful, across from a scenic river and bridge.

Hiro-san gave us a tour of the guest house, and a quick rundown of helpful tourist facts and suggestions. The guesthouse is beautiful and very clean. We were able to get a room with two beds to ourselves with our own key.

Fantastic concept the minshuku. Roomy deluxe double futon room excellent storage, facilities worked really well. Each room had its own wash basin, bar fridge and table. A washing machine and dryer was available to use The cost was excellent for room only but q high if adding breakfast and dinner ie $250 dbb vs $90 bed only. Very friendly and helpful staff. Seemed you could hire hiking boots, sticks, waterproof gear.

The thing I liked the most about the property was how nice Barbara and Aki were. Some of the nicest guest room owners I’ve ever encountered. Our room was big and clean and the property itself had a very nice vibe as a wooden traditional house. All the other guests (both Japanese and foreigners) were all very friendly and Barbara facilitated friendly interactions between everyone. They were also providing good tips and advice about what to do in Yakushima, and were keen on helping foreigners who don’t speak Japanese (by calling restaurants for example).

The space was spacious and beautifully presented. It was the perfect place to slow down and rest after some busy paced travel.
The host was so responsive and helpful (she assisted in making us dinner reservations) and the breakfast was so delicious. It had me craving it for days afterwards.
The location was close enough to some nice restaurants and sights, especially if you have your own car.
I would definitely come back to stay here again.

We had a whole cottage (with a toilet) for ourselves. The shower/bathtub was in a separate building a short walk away, but still for our use only. It's quiet and beautiful.
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
Great location near the bus stop and walkable distance to several nice restaurants and a supermarket. The hosts are very nice and breakfast is so great.
Daichan is a great host! He was really helpful on the organisation of our trip on Yakushima Island. He has created 2 booklets with his family about all the best from the island including the ways of getting there with the public transport (which was SUPER helpful as the buses don’t run that often). The yurt are really comfortable. AC has a separate cost of 100 yens per 2 hours but otherwise fans are included in all tents. All the installations were really clean.
Great location, perfectly functional AC and bathroom and shower were always clean. Washing machine was clean and worked well I appreciated it much. There was no dryer but since it’s summer clothes got dried out fast anyway.
The room is traditional Japanese style and private rooms, 18m walking from miyanoura port
3m walk to the closest local bus station #23
6m walk to the river and miyanoura beach where you can watch sunrise. Soap & Laundry machine included.
Staff were extremely friendly, we received a full tour of the cabin on arrival as well as a welcome drink made of locally grown tankan (orange) juice and a dessert on the second night. The cabin was clean, well set up, and comfortable. It is in a quiet location and the outlook was extremely private.
There are three private rooms with a common area, a well-equipped kitchen that reminds me of hostel kitchens, and a big bottle of local sake to share with your new friends in the other rooms. Location is at the end of a street near the river: very quiet but close to Anbo’s tiny downtown, the port, and bus stops. The hostess doesn’t speak English but all the main information about staying there is written up in English.
>Very nice traditional house.
>Great host (you should order dinner there, she is a really nice cook, we ate a fantastic meal!)
>Great location in a small village in front of the sea, next to the beach where the turtles lay eggs (we saw 2)
Barbara was such a great host, recommending places to visit on Yakushima and so knowledgeable. The property is in a small town on the North Coast of Yakushima, very quiet and peaceful. Thanks for such an amazing time!
