Our host was in communication 24/7 (we had a flat tire coming in and were running late, and Taka kept in touch to make sure we made it in safe and sound). Cozy, private room, access to a hot bath, we had a great stay for one night!

This guesthouse is located very conveniently in the centre of Matsushima, all sightseeing spots are within easy walking distance. The owners are very friendly, we had a nice evening chatting with them over a beautiful glass of sake. Our room was small, and had single beds rather than a double bed. As we were the only guests, we had the bathroom facilities to ourselves, which was nice.
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.

Staff were 10/10. Great coffee. Good kitchen. Nice size fridge freezer. Comfortable beds. Privacy curtains. Dorm is OK size, and there's a toilet within the dormitory. The guesthouse is located in front of the train tracks so if you are a light sleeper I suggest using ear plugs. Otherwise a quiet area. It is far from the station and city centre and anyone who books this guesthouse should know that already. Walking distance to two big supermarkets.
A clean and newly furnished hotel at a great location, 5 min walk to jr station. Excellent breakfast buffet with local flavours and lots of salads.
Room is small but it suffice needs for travel and is very clean.

Amazing old fashioned hotel! Everything from the entrance, elevators and rooms was very quaint. We felt very grand while staying there. Great location too.
