You get your own big room with a nice view for a very cheap price. On top of that is a nice kitchen and multiple bathrooms.
Even though it’s not that easy to get to and away from the house, the host makes up for that by being willing to drive you to and from any bus or train stop nearby, which made it really easy to get around.
But not only does the host drive you, he also cooks really good breakfast.
Offering hot-spring baths, free Wi-Fi and a completely non-smoking environment, Fuji-Hakone Guest House is a cosy family-run inn with English-speaking staff.

The facilities were perfect, so comfortable, and provided everything we needed. The hosts are so kind, and told us everything we needed to know about the area and how to get the best out of our trip to Hakone.
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
Quirky original building in quiet location. Great for the family. Staff were super friendly and spoke great English. This was our favourite accommodation whilst in Japan.
With its proximity to the station and city centre of Odawara, you can easily explore outside the city as well. This hotel has everything you need. If you're the type to hang out at bars, clubs, or restaurants at night you won't have to go far~
Location is very close to the station and the city center. The hosts were very friendly, greeted us personally and helped with our luggages. I recommend it for the price :)

Great location. A cosy hostel in a relatively quiet neighbourhood. Check-in went without issues, although I did have to help a few guests with their check-in as it was unclear which bunk number is assigned to you unless you check inside the mens/ladies room itself (it's written on a whiteboard on the wall).
Nice comfy bed, enough walking space on the floor to place luggage and not feel that you might be blocking other guests. Really liked having access to the 4th floor space for having meals late at night.
The apartment is big enough for two or three people and looks exactly as on pictures. Lawson is right in front of it but in general the neighbourhood is very quiet even though it's just a few minutes from JR train station. Communication with the host and check in process was super easy and well explained. It could be just a bit cheaper but apart from that, we were fully satisfied with this place :)
Excellent location, close to many restaurants and walking distance from train station. We used this apartment as a home base while exploring Hakone with Hakone free pass and had excellent time. Was a lot cheaper to stay in Odawara than in Hakone and the restaurants were cheaper too.
Host was very welcoming and friendly. There were all the amenities that you could need and we never had to queue to the shared bathroom or toilet. House was very quiet and bed super comfortable. Would stay here again.

- the common bath is great and using same onsen from hakone
- private elevator within the hotel
- room size is ok for Japan hotel (they are all small) that I can open my 28" suitcase
