Very friendly staff with good tips around the facilities in kusatsu. Comfortable stay which was a short 5 minutes away from the main area. Nice authentic Japanese guesthouse stay with tatami mat room, futons and such. Great value as well.

Feeling immediately at home by the family's hospitality. Besides serene mountains in the heart of nature and amazing snow conditions within walking distance from the retreat, the food is THE highlight. Hot pots, authentic new Japanese food experiences served with every eye for detail, was an amazing add-on! Not to forget the Onsen experiences after a full day of skiing; a true retreat for body and mind.
We will come back every year!!!

The hosts were very friendly and hospitable.
We loved the private bath and the view from our ro was very relaxing.
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
It’s very near to the tourist spot yubatake. The hotel has 2 private onsen bath. The hotel feels like a boutique hotel. Really nice stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. For those driving, can park at the public carpark and the staff will give you a complimentary overnight parking that valid from 3pm to 10am the next day.
Location was right off the central onsen/square of Kusatsu. Very convenient, calm and quiet. The ryokan itself had 2 private and 2 gendered onsens that were almost always available for our own use and I will absolutely stay here again if I visit Kusatsu again.
We loved the family run set up and our very informative host. The place is old but very well maintained and clearly with a lot of history. The location is great too - not too far from the center but enough to be quiet. The private Onsen was very cute.
really good location literally two minutes from the bus station. Host are really responsive, we are allowed to leave our luggage prior to check in. They actually allow us to check in early as our room is ready
Its a quiet house with 4-5 rooms only, shared toilet and bath. Bath can be reserved for private use and really clean as well.
Fyi, they dont provide towels for free so either pay or bring your own towels.
We are allowed to also cook in their kitchen
Beds are super comfortable, room is large and warm
A cozy room, in a great location located just minutes from the bus station and yubatake. Breakfast each morning was delicious, and different each day. The free to use private onsen are great for those wanting a little more privacy or just a place to relax away from the crowds. There was also a great subtle bean theme!
Kaiseki meals in elegant dining room were superb.Good English support in the dining room.
Very central location.
Futons were OK when double layer of 2 futons was used.
Could open the window for fresh air.
30000 yen for Friday night, 39000 yen for Saturday night for 2 people including amazing meals.
Room old but clean. Size comfortable but not big.
Very quiet.
Modest private bathroom and toilet appreciated.
Quite nice hotel onsen.
Very warmly welcoming and friendly personnel, attentive care, helpful service. Cosy, well-managed hot bath sections (two), which were easily available on-demand. Both of the baths are big enough for 2-3 persons. We had a spacious and well-equipped room suitable for three persons. Clean and very quiet. Comfy yukatas and thankfully one larger sized one for a bigger-size North European guy😀Fantastic breakfast, which was different every morning! A charming yakiniku restaurant nearby and importantly a 7-11 as well. Big thank you!
Great location, traditional feel, quiet hotel, roomier than expected, 4 indoor private onsens with temps posted (HOT) which were available whenever we were looking to use them, plenty of parking. I'm saw kids enjoying the playroom with toys on the premises. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great value for money.
