This place is perfect for a few days getaway in the mountains! Really lovely hosts (Yusuke and his wife) and beautifully done up building. Yusuke gave great itinerary suggestions and safety and transport tips, and hosted an epic bonfire for the guests too. Nice communal feel, well maintained and clean facilities. On-site restaurant as well with delicious food makes it easy to sort out dinner plans! Arigatō gozaimasu!

Oh my god, where to start? This place is FANTASTIC! We arrived in off season at what I think is a ski lodge, but Karuizawa is a fantastic place to visit in summer. The building is so cute and the rooms are lovely, the setting is fantastic, and the owner, Suzuki (I hope I got your name right!) is lovely. She offered to take us up and down from the nearby station if we needed (although it's also possible to walk), and went to great pains to make our stay as comfortable as it could be. They even have a cute cat!

The hosts were very helpful and nice. The breakfast was delicious and filling, I really liked the apple juice. I prefer peace and quite , so I really liked the location, away from the hustle and bustle. Free water and tea. You can bring your own food, fridge, common space. There are also small lockers for your non-valuable stuff. There's a reading room/luggage room where you can place your large suitcases, pack/unpack which reduces the need for people with big bags to unpack/pack inside the room.
Bonus : There were fireworks around that area on the day I stayed and can see it from the guesthouse :)

Location is very convenient. The cottage is nestled between the trees overlooking the ski slope. Staying here in spring and summer means you're surrounded by green. It's pretty and peaceful.
The cottage is spacious and private. Separate toilet and traditional Japanese bath/shower. Only 10 minutes walk to the shopping plaza. Umbrellas are available. There's also a free bus service.

The hotel is also well situated far from the central activity. While it is a short distance from the train stations, it is nicely placed in the woods - good for a nice walk to beautiful greenery and quiet trails.
Lovely home in a great location, close to public transport and restaurants but also very quiet. Very picturesque walk along the river and through the forest.
Managed by a lovely couple, the service was personable and kind - they gave us a small change for taxi ride to train station when we checked out as they felt apologetic they could not give us a ride due to busy period, even though it was not required . They have hot baths which we could use privately. Breakfast was generous and excellent. Room was quiet and clean, and the heated floor kept the room warm at night. Overall a lovely stay!
We had a really nice stay at this bed and breakfast. The owners were kind and friendly. The room was simple, but very clean with comfortable beds. Nighttime was quiet and we could hear and see some songbirds in the trees near the house in the morning. Breakfast was delicious, served in a cozy dining room. And, it was easy to drive to some good sightseeing spots from here.
