Great place with very lovely hosts. They have organized an AMAZING trip to Mt Sibayak at a competitive price. Our guide Leo has very good English, is funny and knowledgeable. It was a genuine pleasure to just spent time with him on this trek. He made some delicious coffee for us at the top of volcano. The owners have also arranged a private transport to the airport for us with an attractive price.

I line with all Red Doorz, good value, easy to use accommodation. Bring your own food, they have tables and a balcony upstairs where you can eat. Good parking space. It was perfect for us with kids as it is only 500 metres from the Amazing Mickie Funland. I would recommend Funland to anyone with kids - and such a great price.

Location was great - a 10 min walk to the market and main street where there’s so much choice of great food. Ron is great and very helpful with our onward travel and just an all round nice guy. Receptionist Jangry ( sorry if I got the name spelt wrong) was such a sweet and kind person. Lovely breakfast too.

Beautiful property in a great location in Berastagi. The family who owned the property were so friendly and looked after us during our stay. The food was delicious and the rooms were comfortable. Also very easy to arrange a trip to climb Mount Sibayak. Thank you for a great stay! :)
We stayed for two nights - big bedroom, two king size beds, one single bed, everything very clean.
Self-made breakfast and dinner by Cecilia was amazing, traditional food, fresh fruits and whole grain bread - we loved it.
Smiley and Cecilia spoke English very well, we learnt a lot about the culture and living. We especially enjoyed the two tours we did with Smiley - Volcano Sibayak at sunrise and Batak village and market.

Really nice place to stay in Berastagi. Hosts are very friendly! We did the volcano sunrise tour with them and it was definitely worth waking up for. The place is clean and from walking distance of the city centre. Would definitely recommend staying here. Also if you are in need of a private car to someplace else on Sumatra they can help you! Request Uncle Mike if you want to have a fun & educational drive :). He was most accommodating!
