The location was great. You could just stroll to the beach. The balcony had a beautiful view. The owner seemed to really want to please but communication was difficult because I don't speak Greek.

My wife and I stayed at Sclopa The Laography Project on our honeymoon in mid-September 2024. The elegance, charm, historicity, and comfort of the boutique hotel’s rooms and common spaces astounded us to the point that my well-traveled wife remarked that it was the best stay of her life around a hotel or Airbnb. The rooms are thoughtfully stocked with beautiful plates and cutlery as well as a table for eating and a dedicated sink for cleaning up after meals.
A very warm mother and her son own Sclopa. The mother lives on site and prepared us a delicious complementary breakfast from scratch on our last morning. Her son is an Athens-based archeologist who spared no expense or attention to detail in lovingly and painstakingly renovating the 300-year-old five-home building into a truly remarkable hotel. The son even published a book in Greek, English, and French that details the history of the property and explains all the typical design features of Cretan houses using examples from the exterior and the rooms.
A nice bonus is the hotel’s accessibility to both Crete’s main highway and a solid town, both just a couple of minutes away. My wife and I already cannot wait to return for a second stay.
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
The private pool and the quietness was perfect.
It's a small hotel and it's very secluded, so no noisy neighbors around. A car is recommended, if you want to see some of the bigger cities/attractions.
A new, nicely designed, spacious and comfortable apartment, with big balcony in a quiet neighbourhood, walking distance to all amenities, with a private parking.
Super friendly and caring hosts, providing useful tips and various little gifts. Always at your disposal.
You can chill out at the pool, sipping local wines.
This boutique hotel offers a charming and intimate atmosphere. The decor is tasteful, and the rooms are well-appointed. We particularly enjoyed the peacefulness of the garden area. A perfect place for a quiet retreat.
A charming boutique hotel in Kissamos

The hotel has a private and special beach that includes umbrellas, beach beds and a bar where you can order food, drinks, beers and cocktails.

Antonis and Maria are great hosts, extremely careful about their guests' needs. At our arrival they made us find their home-made tsikoudia and oil, besides a basket of fresh fruit. The accommodation is equipped with everything we needed including brand new essential home appliances. We could enjoy the peace and quiet of Villa Nama, with its beautiful view over the surrounding hills, and pleasant dinners in cool breeze of the garden. Ευχαριστώ πολύ Αντώνη και Μαρία!
Large appartment, clean, quiet location. Welcome drink (a bottle of wine, a bottle of raki) + some fresh fruit, coffee, butter, honey … all complimentary. Fast working wi-fi. Grocery store, bakery and taverna (cheap and tasty local food) just steps away. Owner is responsive and available all the time via chat
The restaurant is excellent ; fresh , skillfully prepared and delicious! Reasonably priced. The buffet breakfast was very good also and worth adding on to your stay. The grilled veggies were to die for. We had a seafront room right on the beach, so had sunsets and the sound of waves. Everything was clean and staff were charming and helpful. A great location for day trips to the famous beaches of Faranassa, Balos and Elafonsi. Great pool and you can laze by the sea too on the private beach.
Modern amenities while preserving traditional look and feel, very comfortable room, great location to discover iconic beaches of the west of Crete - Balos and Elafonisis (must do both), 100m from several great restaurants but far enough for peace and quiet, great host and owner Ioannis, speaks wonderful English and serves the best breakfast! totally worth it!
