Chaston Manor hotel is without a doubt one of my favourite hotels on the Island. The level of service you receive here is absolutely exceptional. The owners of the hotel are incredibly welcoming and accommodating to their guests; nothing is too much trouble for them.
The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable with various options available for everyone from solo travellers to family groups.
Breakfast here is an absolute must as well - freshly prepared to order using locally sourced ingredients, it is served with genuine care and attention.
Whilst the hotel is on a fairly busy road (for the Island at least) you are not bothered by traffic noise. Additionally, you are only about a 10 minute walk from one of the most iconic beaches on the Island, with good road links to nearby Shanklin, Ryde and Ventnor.
Situated in Rookley, 8.6 km from Blackgang Chine, The Chequers Inn features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

Good location. Pam and Jules were very friendly and helpful hosts. Breakfast was fantastic, wonderful fresh fruit salad, cooked breakfast and homemade baked pastries. All served in a beautiful tranquil garden setting, could have stayed there all day on loungers or in the hammock! Lovely shower. Bed was comfortable, tea, coffee and chocolate making facilities with fresh milk. Jules even ferried us to and from the hover port. Nothing was too much for our hosts, they really do think of everything!
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
Really nice and cozy accommodation. Good location even if you're not driving. Quiet and safe. Julie was really kind in checking in and left a cake in the kitchen. The living room with the fireplace was ideal for the rainy evening.
We liked the location which was quiet as described. Convenient for Ferry Terminal at Fishbourne. Enjoyed the wildlife, particularly the red squirrels. Julie is a great host and very accommodating. Supplies provided on arrival were much appreciated.
