The Willowford, hotel in Milton Keynes

The Willowford offers accommodations in Milton Keynes, 7.2 miles from Bletchley Park and 28 miles from Knebworth House.

The first night I arrived I was in one of the garden rooms and unfortunately it was a cold night in March. There was just a standalone convector heater in the bedroom and an electric towel rail in the bathroom. That particular night, the bathroom was warmer than the bedroom, but I thought I'd be fine once in bed. In fact I never got warm enough and didn't want to leave the heater on all night either, so I didn't have a great night's sleep. I had booked for a few days and was feeling like I'd perhaps made the wrong choice. After a message to The Willowford, the next day they upgraded me to a room in the house with no shower but a roll-top bath. A huge improvement and centrally heated so very warm. I was given a key to the main door as well as the bedroom and I was grateful for their help and consideration with the upgrade, as I slept well and was comfortable for the rest of my stay. Perhaps I'd have a completely different view of the garden rooms in warmer weather, but as it was, I was very glad to have moved rooms. After the initial mishap, the management were very helpful and checked in with me via messages to see if I had everything I needed and whether I needed any linen changes, so it ended up being a good stay.

B&B Harlington Manor, hotel in Harlington

Offering garden views, B&B Harlington Manor in Harlington offers accommodations, a terrace, a bar, and a shared lounge.

What a lovely historical home! Friends in the area recommended my staying there for a short trip from London to the Bedfordshire area to see friends. The Manor house is quite impressive and one could spend a great deal of time puttering about and viewing all the rooms. My room, the red Kings Room was on the top floor, with very nice views of parts of the Garden. Comfortable bed with a canopy, en suite bathroom, coffee maker and electric kettle. Prior to arriving or shortly thereafter, you can place your order for which type of breakfast you'd like to have in the mornings. I recommend the Full English... it was substantial. My host and owner was a wealth of information regarding the history of the establishmrnt. My conversations with him were insightful. The Gardens are pretty, but it was a bit too wet to sit outside, I opted for the bright and airy library to have a cup if tea, read and relax. Staying here was a treat, almost like being in a period movie. All that was missing were Mr. Carson. Mrs. Hughes Thomas and the Crawleys. 😉

Great location if your visiting the Safari Park as its 10 min drive away . Lots of places to eat around . Recommend the Tai restaurant . Breakfast was good , friendly staff & owner . We were in the courtyard , not a big room but comfortable & plenty of hot water etc .. good sleep too as its quiet .. The coach entrance is a test to your driving , fold in your wing mirrors & enter front on for a successful entry .. it did make us chuckle though .
