I honestly can’t fault anything at The Dog. The rooms are comfortable, well decorated and quiet! We stayed in The Westie room and loved it! The food was delicious with a great number of options on the menu for both food and beers, wines, cocktails! We were lucky enough to stay there whilst the pub quiz was on and it was one of the best quizzes we’ve been to! The staff are exceptional, we felt right at home and as if we were surrounded by friends! Special mention and thanks to Beccie, who is an absolute testament to the establishment! We can’t wait to return! If I could give more than 10 stars I would!

The guest house was warm. The bedroom we had was large and comfortable. The en-suite bathroom was large and well equipped. There were rooms to sit and relax or watch TV. The garden was well kept. The parking was very good. Breakfast was plentiful and pre ordered. Our host was kind and welcoming.

Our stay at Birtles Farm B&B started on Saturday morning when Sharon very kindly sent us a quick text message to introduce herself which we felt was a lovely touch.
Sharon welcomed us in and showed us to our room, gave us a really detailed intro about the rooms, the building, the breakfast etc... again a lovely touch. The building is lovely, a real old farm house complete with original wooden staircase, floorboards and door handles (the door handles have to be totally original from bygones ago and I would love to know the history of the building as I bet it can tell a few stories). If you are planning to visit you must remember this is a working farm with stables so every now and again you will hear the odd moo or clip clop of hooves... followed by silence and the odd bird chirping... peace and serenity in abundance. We were in room 3 which has its own bathroom on the landing, for some they may want it in the room but for us it was ideal...the room is spacious, has incredible views, a sink area, wardrobe, drawers and copious amounts of tea and coffee.. overall it was really comfortable. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, some may feel it was too soft however Sharon did advise that if we needed different pillows we could just ask. Another great thing about the room was that the flooring was kinda slanted, just keeps in with the original features of the farm house and i wouldnt have changed this! just all adds to the comfort! I would also say if you're really tall, remember to duck through the doors as again (keep saying this) they are lower than normal however it all keeps with the feel of a quintessential English farm house. Breakfast was superb, lots to choose from and a full English to suit cooked there and then which was lovely... filter coffee too :) Overall you wont be disappointed, great hosts, great location, 10 out of 10 guys keep up the great work
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
Since we had an early flight the next morning, the proximity to the airport was a big advantage. It's a charming building in wooded surroundings, not like a high rise in the city centre. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless. Beds and linen very good. You can sit outside and enjoy the greenery around.
Location quiet and shuttle to airport quick cheap and convenient. #TemptingTravellersTO enjoyed a fantastic salad and fresh fruit plate with yoghurt for under ten pounds!
Only 10 minutes drive from Manchester Airport meant it was a great location for a late night flight arrival. Huge bed and tv, nice and quiet and easy check-in
Value for money it can’t be beat. As long as you are happy with a comfortable bed, cheap drinks, cheap parking then you will be happy. Just bear in mind, this is not a luxury hotel!!
Ideally located for Manchester airport. Hotel Long stay car park by far cheaper than using the airport car parks 😊
Comfortable bed, surprisingly quiet despite being on airports flight path.
Staff were very helpful.
I was a little concerned at the beginning because it is quite cheap and the past reviews were not very nice but I was positively surprised to find very polite staff and a clean comfortable and quiet room. It is not luxury off course but for that price I was impressed
