Kings Arms, hotel in Thirsk

Situated in the small and pretty village of Sandhutton, Kings Arms is 3.4 miles from the market town of Thirsk.

Friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Wasn't too loud even with the bar being practically underneath the room. Breakfast Bacon was done the way I like it without even asking 😂 Parking was tight when I first arrived (at dinner) but was later able to park underneath the room window

Newsham Grange Farm, hotel in Thirsk

In 16 acres of land on the outskirts of Thirsk, Newsham Grange Farm offers luxury bed and breakfast between the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales.

From the moment we arrived we knew we had booked the right place! The photos do not do justice to the quality of this accommodation and Sue was so helpful and accommodating, from allowing an earlier check in to letting us order a takeaway on the Friday night!

Our room was absolutely fabulous. Both Breakfast and dinner both nights were first class and the dining room was very well decorated and comfy - all staff were excellent throughout our stay. Particularly enjoyed our lengthy chat with the hotel's owner Steve during our second night in the restaurant when he joined our table after we finished our meal - he is a real character with lots to tell

Great location. Cosy ensuite single room was perfect, with view of the market place. It was quiet too. Great for breakfast downstairs. Loved the beautiful old staircase. Staff were helpful, the young woman on reception kindly carried my suitcase up the stairs. I'll be back.

In a secluded, private courtyard this quaint little cottage is a hidden gem. Standing out front you could imagine the street life of 100 years ago just by looking around you. We stayed a couple of days and wished we would have stayed a couple more as The Bakery Cottage and Thirsk are steeped in history and we didn’t get a chance to take it all in. In summary, if you’re looking for a quiet few days away with beautiful surroundings then you shouldn’t look any further than The Bakery Cottage.

Beautiful property. We loved having a private hot tub and using the pool too was almost private as it was nice and quiet. The velvetiser was an amazing touch and the coffee machine with pods. Also really loved having robes and slippers- felt like a luxury hotel!
