Caynham Court, hotel in Tenbury

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Caynham Court is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Ludlow, 45 km from Ironbridge Gorge.

Simple breakfast, great homemade preserves. House with amazing history and lots of character. The owners allowed us to use the washing machine, not sure if thats the norm but would be a real plus for travellers if they knew they could do a small wash. There is a kitchen put only a toaster and kettle and fridges so visitors should know that they will need to eat out or not cook.

Great location for our 1 night stay while cycling up towards Cumbria. Really friendly staff. Good choice of non-meat dishes for dinner and breakfast. Very clean room with a bath for soaking weary limbs. Quiet.

Almost everything. We were greeted warmly by our hosts and treated to a cup of tea. Very much like the good old days of bnb. The room was private, cosy and comfortable. The shower was exceptional, the best you will find anywhere. The location was lovely, quiet but close to the town (short drive or long walk). A pub is even closer.

I had a lovely 2 night stay at The Costrel. The accommodation was superb: it had a feeling of quality and luxury due to the bed, mattress, walk-in shower, and decor, and I appreciated the assortment of teas and coffee. It’s cosy and warm (central heating and a portable oil radiator as well) and the house is on a quiet lane with no noise in the countryside. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend it.

Beautifully presented and well equipped studio that was ideal for our stay, with use of the garden which has lovely views and multiple seating areas. The room has its own private entrance and there were many little luxury touches that added to the enjoyable experience. We ate out in one of the host’s recommended local restaurants which was also really good quality and value.

Stunning location, with gorgeous views- our evening spent enjoying wine and the sunset on our private patio in a real highlight. Rooms were beautifully designed, but not at the cost of comfort. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and hospitable- really the icing on the cake. Food was excellent- both the upgrades to a home cooked evening meal and full English breakfast are highly recommended. Absolute feel of luxury and quality- with down to earth, lovely hosts.

Very quiet location and private parking. Plenty of lighting in the room was good as I like to sew. Pretty little towns nearby, although I didn't get chance to visit them, ran out of time. Useful for the RHS Malvern Spring Festival which was the purpose of my visit, and to go to Hay-on-Wye.
